Originally the vet thought the pain meds had damaged Bob's kidneys. That was when his feet cracked, dried and peeled off.
Since I read about CRF I can see that it is not a contagious disease but a problem with kidney failure.
The pain medicine is Metacam. He took 0.3 ml every 24 hours for...
I looked up CRF and I don't think it sounds like what he has. I think I will give him a bit more time and if any other symptom pops up take him back to the vet.
My cat, Bob, got injured a couple months ago.
He was on the counter with the kittens and one of them pushed him off. He pulled a ligament in his shoulder.
I took him immediately to the vet and he put him on a pain medication after doing x-rays to be sure there was no break.
The pain meds...
I am using FloraMore. My vet seemed thrilled with that brand but I will check out the ingredients. Samuel is on day two without his diarrhea pill (Centrine). I will see how the day progresses.
He is also now on only 3 food ingredients. . . . . peas, duck and chicken.
My Samuel has had diarrhea for one year and 4 months. We have tried everything. We are just now switching his food to Natural Balance green pea and duck formula. We are not quite completely changed over yet, but his diarrhea is much better. I think this food looks promising. There is no...
I use FloraMore for both me and the cats. I sprinkle the capsule over their wet food and mix it in. It tastes like cream and they love it. I split one capsule between the two of them, but the vet says they can each take whole one if I like.
It is a people probiotic and the vet has approved...
Thank you all.
I checked out the Natural Balance and as soon as my vet lets me, will try that one.
He really thinks the issue is stress related, but wants to rule out food allergies first.
He put both cats on Amitriptyline, too. We are only a couple days into that and I don't know how long...
My vet has put my cats on this formula.
Does anyone know why it is only by prescription? It is a long ride to this vet's office.
Do you all have another suggestion for food after we get Samuel's diarrhea problem figured out?
OK. . . . . . I went to the other thread and I think this article is on "Tritrichomonas foetus infection in cats"
Since I just sent a fecal sample to Ohio State and they did an extended list of tests on Samuel, I think that one was ruled out.
I am back to food allergies . . . . . . . . maybe.
I got the tests back from Ohio State.
He has no communicable diseases. I am trying the FloraMore.
My vet said that if the FloraMore doesn't work, I need to start looking for a different food in case he has a food allergy. That task looks very frustrating to me. I tried Felidae a long time...
