Thank you. Fecal test just came back and he tested positive for salmonella so that might be the cause. I've got him to eat shredded tuna in broth as well as dry, both a complete food. I've googled the hydracare pouches and cant see them for sale in the UK.
Lickable treats give him diarrhoea but I bought these today, they are a complimentary food but have lots of liquid and he just ate a sachet with dry food so I'm hoping there's sufficient liquid in them because he wont drink water. Also they will replace the cod. I'll discuss this with my vet...
@FeebysOwner believe it or not the only stage one food here in the UK has ingredients such as veg or mostly desserts. I cant find EZ sold here but have found this...
Thank you. Buzz will eat dry for sensitive tummies but doesn't drink water, this caused debris in his urine several years ago. Managed to transition him onto wet but now wont eat that. The vet is not sure what to do next..
Bit of a back story so apologies for the long thread.
My cat became ill a few weeks ago, diarrhoea and refusing to eat. Multiple vet visits with fecal analysis, scan, bloods and temperatures normal. He's had antibiotics, steroids, anti nausea injection and appetite stimulants Currently he will...
It could be Eosinophilic Keratitis, it looks similar but I cant be sure. You may have to see a specialist. If it is EK I have had a cat with it and she recovered well with specific daily eye drops.
One of my cats has a sensitive tummy and eats sheba succulent selection without problems, they come in gravy as well as jelly, different to fresh and fine

This is Purina one
Gourmet is very similar but not as rich. Have you tried Sheba fine flakes in gravy
Have you got a Pets at Home near you, they give a full refund on some foods if your cat wont eat it, worth asking them if they do it on the above.
You could try sprinkling a little Fortiflora on the food or maybe your cat would like Purina One in gravy or Gourmet in gravy.

Try putting soil or sand in one of the litter boxes to see if he will use it. Some cats just dont like the feel of litter under their paws but its unusual for them to change their habits at your cat's age.If he uses the soil then you will be able to see if his poop looks healthy.
You could foster a cat from your local shelter then if all is well either consider adopting the cat or go for the cat you choose. I cant imagine a short/ medium or long haired cat would make a difference to your allergies as all shed fur.
It could be an after effect from the anaesthetic or the change of food. Often if their food is changed without a slow transition it can upset their tummies. Just see her the next poop is, it could be soft just this once.
