Late update...!
Mom went to the vet. All looks good & healthy. They say she does have milk through all her nipples. No elcampsia or mastitis!!
I did finally get a shaker bottle as I did have one but couldn't find the lid....or the whisk ball...of course lol
And the KMR mixes up, no clumps...
Yes, I've been following the directions on the container 1 part powder to 2 parts water.
I have been putting some kmr in with wet food for momma daily.
Its actually winter here! The house is typically 72-73⁰F
It is a bit warmer in my room for the kittens of course, but I don't keep the kmr in...
I just weighed the babies. They ARE still gaining weight. Which is so so good to hear. I'll be going to the store today to try and find different formula incase.
I will try again with mixing, and mushing the bubbles if need be. Otherwise I will sift the lumps from the formula. I thought that...
Mom will have legs straight out when she's laying down to nurse. Her pupils do constrict when she's laying down and will continue to look forward...but will dilate again sometimes and look at me. .
I'm so scared the babies aren't going to make it over night and momma is going to go to. I'm...
please excuse that question. I DO realize that is silly and will not work. I'm just desperate and it's 3:35am and I feel like I'm failing my cat and her kittens
Would I be able to sift the kitten formula once it's been made to remove the clumps? I feel like that's a silly question. But I feel like shaking it, is creating way too many bubbles in the bottle.
As I thought before, mom's milk production is slowing down quickly. I believe there may only be 3 nipples producing enough milk. I'm thinking she might have milk fever(eclampsia) or maybe even mastitis? But I'm not going to assume anything until I speak to a vet tomorrow, and seeing if I can get...
Won't latch on to mom, and I have a heating pad under blankets in box so I know they're kept warm. Trying to give kmr... breathes are very shallow... I don't think he's going to make it. But I'm praying.
The kitten who has been crying, seems to show signs of fading kitten syndrome. No energy, lethargic. I will try sugar water to see if it may be low blood sugar. But if it's not, then I'm worried I'll be losing a kitten.
Hello! I had 6 kittens born very early in morning on March 9th.
This is not the mother's first litter and she has been doing great. She did wonderful while giving birth, cleaning up, ate the sac, chewed the umbilical cord etc; She's finally comfortable enough to get up out of the box for a bit...
