    Adaptation to new home

The first cat I truly owned/paid for, Nobel, was nervous when we first moved. It wasn't until I threw some music on while I was unpacking that he came out from his hiding place. I've used music since but the one with purring was a game changer for helping new cats relax.

    New Slow Feeder

There's a lot of inexpensive brands with limited ingredients. They are usually a big hit with most cats. I always encourage at least one can of wet food per day with extra water, if it can be affordable to the owner. How was their eating today? Any better?

Conan loves his palm tree garden!

These boys do enjoy some garden exploits but Magnus is an "almost all seasons walk" kind of floor. He's like Conan @doomsdave, too smart for his own good. He also needs walks or he's a menace.

Featured Picture of the Month Competition: April 2024: Cats and Clothing

I figured since she needed it to go monthly to the vet, we could both like it! It just didn't have a hole for harness-leash attachment. It had to come out the back. We still use it for cage transport for the boys 🥰 -40 too cold for any cat. Even briefly.

    New Slow Feeder

If you're worried, you can put a but on the mat near the feeders to entice them and let them do the rest! How sturdy are they on top of the other bowls? If they are rocking a bit, that can discourage your cats. If you try putting them on the floor, they can use their feet to get the peices out...

Featured Picture of the Month Competition: April 2024: Cats and Clothing

Not an entry: Lily prepared for her vet trip 2019. That's her winter jacket. I don't usually like clothes for pets but our weather makes it necessary.

Conan loves his palm tree garden!

An oldie, but Nobel and Lily outside in our previous gated garden before we moved to our current rental. No idea why Lily looks like she has no tail! We let our cats outside supervised, but this new gen get harnesses too as they cannot be trusted to not jump. Nobel and Lily has balcony life...

    Intermittent carpet pooping

Wonderful! You're giving her good support. I'm sure she will learn in no time. Sometimes a change of food can cause them to go outside the box too.

Shelter cat is broken and super depressed

She might have a bladder infection. Shes been so good about her potty, it tells me something is up. It might be best to move her back to the room she was in. You could always check out @Kwik 's post on Timmy (the now housecat). But I believe a smaller area for socialization was going better...

My two cats used to be more bonded but not anymore. Could I get some advice?

How's their schedule look like with you? How's their "resources"? If the resources didn't increase with the increase in animals then that can cause the inter-cat friction. Can you tell us a bit more about the home and the set-ups for all 3 cats? How are the cats with the doggos?

    Intermittent carpet pooping

She is a bit young, so I am guessing mom-cat didn't finish teaching her. That's why her potty habits are unreliable. Many places keep cats until 12 weeks now to lower the risk of "behavioural" problems like this. Litter Training — Kitten Lady Did you change their food since you got them or are...

9 Month Old Resident Kitten Stalking 8 Week Old New Kitten

A young male cat can easily be over-exuberant with a younger, smaller kitten. It's really common and usually as the other kitten evens out in size it gets a bit easier. If he super focused on the kitten? Are you able to wear him out a bit before they play?

Getting my Semi Feral Cat Back?

Are you able to visit the sanctuary to see how Red is doing? If Olive is doing better, he likely just needs time and I'd hate to see you and 3 cats be pushed out of your place should your landlord become irate....whereas it's easier to negotiate that you only have one extra... How's Olive...

    Panic attack ?

You can put them in separate rooms for a bit to calm down if you want. Nobel always needed 20 min to an hour by himself after the vet to decompress.

    Blocked male cat/urinary problems.

Hey! My last senior cat had FLUTD for most of his life. We did the prescription diet for awhile and then went to non prescription urinary food. I also added glucosamine suppliments. I had to switch my litter to non-clay, non-pine litter and non-clumping for actual dust free. When it was a...

    Panic attack ?

Put some calming music on. Do something yo reset YOUR nervous system (cold shower, ice on your face or have a popcicle). Its been a stressful day and YOU DID IT. YOU MADE IT THROUGH. Its hard, i get it. We did it with Ghost recently. Once you do something to get your nervous system a bit more...

    Panic attack ?

From what I read before Ghost's chest x-ray and ultrasound was that it should be withheld for 8-12 hours; sometimes as short as 4 hours. It's mostly to get a clearer picture but does also help lower the risks. It's more important for when they have surgery as they are under longer. Nobel didn't...
