Hi everyone! :)
I have 2 cats with access to the "outside world". I live in a very small condo where neighbors know them and cars can't drive fast because it's shaped like a roundabout, so the dangers of being outside are lowered (I know there still are some).
The problem is, one day we'll...
Mini update
The random weight loss has returned :ohwell:, but normally they add a lot the next day, so I'll worry when they lose two days in a row.
Begonia has been a handful lately ; she's 7 weeks old and still refuses to eat on a plate, and she has been having some "accidents"...
Hey y'all! The kittens have been eating a lot and gaining weight :) (finally!!)
Camelia and Begonia really don't want to graduate from the bottle . They seem to like it a lot, because they demand it, but I have caught them eating from their siblings' plates multiple times, but never...
Right after the last feeding (they typically lose wright between feedings, but add a lot after they eat):
Margarita is 458g (always been tiny)
Narciso is 565g
Begonia is 584g
Camelia is 653g
No diarrhea or other symptoms...
Some progress was made though!
I accidentally spilled some slurry on my lap and Narciso licked it off, so I tried feeding him with my finger and it worked! So, the next feeding, him and Margarita ate from my finger and then I lead them to the plate :yess:
Camelia and Begonia are still very...
Thanks, I think for now I'll feed them all just formula (except Begonia, because she doesn't accept it lol) to see if they feed better and gain weight.
And then, maybe in a couple of days, I'll try giving them slurry on a plate
Thanks for the advice, everyone :)
Things are not going great here though, or maybe I'm too paranoid?
It's so unpredictable whether they are going to eat on the next feeding or not... Camelia doesn't accept any flavor or brand of slurry (so I'm feeding her just milk), and I'm not sure if the...
Thanks a lot
They just turned 5 weeks, so they should have been introduced to solid food today, but I started a little bit earlier because they bite a lot (my hands or the bottle's nipple) and I thought they were looking for food, however, as I said, they are not interested at all.
I...
The vomiting kitten (Narciso) is better now, we don't know if it was the slurry or something else that he ingested, but they gave him Dipramida and instructed me to give him only milk for a few days. He has also gained a lot of weight!
On the other hand, everything else has been a disaster...
Sorry if I failed to explain myself :disappointed:
I stayed in another town for a week and I brought the kittens with me. They don't have a mama; I've been feeding them, weighing them and everything else
Hello, I hope you're all OK
As for the kitties, one of them got sick today... I think I accidentally gave (just) him spoiled slurry (milk + wet food I refrigerated) and he vomited :frown:. I feel so bad!
I've seen it happen only once and he has regained his appetite and energy since, but he's...
Also, should I worry if some days they don't gain weight? Or just a couple of grams?
Or the real question: Am I worrying too much about these kitties?
