Is this a hairball in my cat’s poop?

hi all! sorry in advance for the photo of my cat’s poop. Ladybug is a 6 year old female kitty who can’t tolerate any seafood, so she only eats Hill Science Diet Light chicken dry food and Sheba chicken or turkey wet food. Tonight, I was working at my computer and noticed she jumped out of her...

A year into two females not getting along—feeling defeated

Poor kitties! This seems to explain their behavior, with both of them acting aggressively. I’m going on a trip soon, but when I’m back, we will try again to start from scratch with the reintroduction process. It can feel disheartening that we have tried it for a year with no luck, but we will...

A year into two females not getting along—feeling defeated

Thank you! The previous tenant had a dog, from what I know… although nothing in the house seems to attract them like a potential pee spot, maybe something is affecting them unseen to my eye. I will look into a black light! We do have squirrels in the yard and they love to watch them or chitter...

A year into two females not getting along—feeling defeated

hi all! I have posted previously about our two girls, Ladybug (6) and Kitty (11ish). I moved in with my partner in 2022, and although Ladybug and Kitty were never besties, they tolerated each other. we moved into a new place in Feb 2023, and everything changed. shortly after we moved, they...

Rescued kitten & told she was a maine coon/tabby mix - might be more Siberian than MC?

Hi all! My dad adopted two kittens last year from a rescue after our beloved Maine Coon/Tabby named Tigger passed. We believe our new cats are siblings, but potentially only sharing one parent, as Deebo (M) is short-haired and small, while Winnie (F) is long-haired and much larger. We were told...

    Water bowl or fountain recommendations

hi all! I have two girls, Kitty and Ladybug, who have three water bowls throughout the house. they’re various ceramic bowls, and Ladybug also has a coffee mug that she likes to drink water out of lol I used to have a water fountain from the brand Veken, but the spout broke after only a few...

Low tracking litter for cats that don’t like pellets?

Hi all! Our girls currently use Cat’s Pride Max Power Clumping litter, which works in all respects except for tracking. We have them separated currently so there’s a litterbox for each of them in our bedroom and office, respectively. And the litter is everywhere, especially in the bedroom lol. I...

    (Re)introducing our two females (10 & 5 yrs old)

That’s a good question!! I’ll try anything! The next time I go to Trader Joe’s, I’ll see if they have some <3 Fortunately Ladybug doesn’t seem to mind being in the bedroom all day. I just feel bad that Kitty (1) wants to be here because I am, but (2) doesn’t want to be near Ladybug, and yet (3)...

    (Re)introducing our two females (10 & 5 yrs old)

Thank you! We actually did try this last week. Weirdly Kitty had no objections to the vanilla but Ladybug did haha. Still, it didn’t seem to make a difference. :( We do have two Feliway Optimum diffusers in either base camp and cat CBD treats.

    (Re)introducing our two females (10 & 5 yrs old)

Writing in again feeling a bit tired and defeated… It is raining in LA and Kitty seems more vocal than normal because of it. She managed to hop the baby gate we had up on her base camp with the door open; fortunately I was in Ladybug’s base camp and closed the door quickly. Kitty continues to...

    (Re)introducing our two females (10 & 5 yrs old)

Thank you so much for your words! It’s been a very stressful week and hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel… especially when the noises they make are so, so awful. Just heartbreaking. But thank you for the reminder it will be OK. I think we’ll work on swapping them more this weekend...

    (Re)introducing our two females (10 & 5 yrs old)

Hi fellow cat parents <3 I posted recently about a move I had coming up—I moved into a 2 story townhome with my boyfriend and our two cats, Kitty (10F, spayed) and Ladybug (5F, spayed). My question initially was about whether to isolate them separately or in the same room while adjusting. They...

Moving with two kitties — separate or keep them together while adjusting?

Great question lol! I think the younger one annoys the older one because she wants to play more often, so they’ll growl a bit and chase each other… but they also sleep in the same bed/areas and hide together when the vacuum comes out. Maybe I’ll see how they do sharing a space in the new place...

Moving with two kitties — separate or keep them together while adjusting?

Hi all! My boyfriend and I moved in together last April. My cat Ladybug (5 yrs, F) and his cat Kitty (10 yrs, F) were slowly introduced after being isolated for a few days, but they never took warmly to each other. At best, they tolerate the other’s existence lol. We are moving next week and I...

Our two female cats (10 & 5) don’t like each other. Tips for bonding?

Hi all! I moved in with my boyfriend in April. I brought my cat Ladybug (5) and he brought his cat Kitty (10). We slowly introduced them after keeping them separated for a few days, including bringing articles that smelled of the other near their food bowls, etc. It seems to have been for...

Leaving 2 cats for 2 nights with someone checking in — is that OK?

Hi all! My partner and I have two cats together (Ladybug, a 5yr old girl & Kitty, a 10yr old girl). We are going out of town this upcoming Friday for a family wedding and will be home Sunday. Normally I would ask a family member to catsit, but we are all going to be at the wedding. The friend I...

URI with squinting, watery eye — anyone give their babies l-lysine?

Hi all! My little girl Ladybug (5 years, DSH) is having her second URI flare up. Her only symptom is a squinting, watery eye. Appetite, energy, and bathroom habits are all the same as before. The watery eye began Wednesday or Thursday. But because the eye is so sensitive, I took her to urgent...

    Non-chicken, non-prescription dry food recommendations?

Thank you so much!! I’ve seen a lot of these brands on the FDA’s list about grain-free being potentially linked to DCM. Are any of these brands known to have potentially whole grain lines? Or do you have an opinion on whether to worry about the potential connection?
