    Experiences with pneumonia?

Off my other thread; my 20 month old cat died of pneumonia. Around midnight noticed rapid breathing, not eating, general lethargy. We stayed up to see if need to take to emergency, but his condition stayed the same, so took him to vet in morning. After five days despite efforts, he died. He was...

    FELV help!

Hi, ok, situation here. Background - multiple cat household, over 30 cats, it is a rescue type thing (was the last resort for many of them), all cats vaccinated, fixed, snap tested. Only one snap tested positive for FIV. Cat number one, we will call him Joe. 20 months old. He was born in my...

4 Month Old Spayed Kitten Behavior

She is being a kitten, that is what they do, lol. Has nothing to do with her being spayed. When they are teething, they bite more to massage their gums. At four months old, if accurate, she is on the tail end of her teething. Nevertheless, typical kitten behavior, that is what they do.

    Swollen kitten belly

So, the ultrasound showed no blockage in the stomach or intestinal area? No fluid built up anywhere? Does she have diarrhea? What does her stool look like?

    Post Neuter Care.

The biggest danger in neutering is the anesthesia, if the cat still seems off after so many hours, he is having issues with the anesthesia it seems, and should go back to the vet. I do rescues, aside from having over 20 of my own cats, and out of all the fixing I have done, one ever had an...

7mo old Cat positive with FPV! HELP!

Panleuk is trackable, easily trackable, you can carry into your home on any and everything. It is a very tough virus to kill, ordinary cleaning will not kill it. Bleach or accelerated hydrogen peroxide is needed. A vaccinated cat can get it, especially if not gotten the booster yet. The vaccine...

    Is this spay wound infected?

It looks like the incision has closed fine, but the skin is irritated. I would not say it is infected meaning a serious issue at this time, but some inflammation, especially given it has been so long. She is probably licking it, even if you have not noticed it. If I was in your position, I...

Post Urinary Blockage issues and recovery

From my very unprofessional opinion, and experience via having my own cat that had blockage, sounds very inflamed and recommend getting him on corn silk (seven drops, a few times a day to start until urinating normal, then drop to twice a day) and D-Mannose (1/8 teaspoon, once a day)...

Can anyone identify this skin issue?

I am actually happy it is ringworm, because all sorts of worse possibilities were running through my head.

Can anyone identify this skin issue?

Hi, just back from the vet. Ringworm, lol. I have experience with ringworm (was even giving advice about it to a poster here!), but this one threw me off because I have had no case of it for years, and the way it was was different than what I was use to treating, plus my house has been cleaned...

Can anyone identify this skin issue?

I will take to the vet to see, plus have another cat that needs hyperthyroidism test anyway. Bit of a nervous wreck about this skin thing, hoping it is something very simple.

Can anyone identify this skin issue?

Hi, no hair loss in that spot. Edit - I added two more close up pics. I touch it and she does have a reaction to it being touched, though I have not yet seen her touch it herself or it seem to bother her.

    Feline panleukopenia

Yea, suggestion is to get with the facebook panluek site, they have tons of experience dealing with this and can assist. I lost one a few months ago to it. She was a seven year old, vaccinated cat, but had FIV. Have no idea how it got in my home at such a viral load.

Can anyone identify this skin issue?

Hi, see the attach pic. Six month or so girl, she has been inside since caught her at about six weeks old. Just noticed this morning this hard, sandpaper like thing near her belly, underside. It is about the size of a quarter. touching it no reaction from her. I am going to take her to the...

    Ringworm - encouragement needed please

I use miconazole 1%, but I think for humans I only use Miconazole 1%, for humans I believe it is 2%, have no idea if double the amount is an issue or not. I have no idea where the three week contagious period comes from, I have ran across reading this as well, but it is 48 hours, but I give...

    Ringworm - encouragement needed please

Ringworm? Simple issue, would not even worry about it at all. I am in the rescue/TNR business, I come across ringworm often enough. Once topical treatment starts, it is not contagious like 72 hours or so after topical treatment.
