My cat similarly hates carriers. She was semi-feral (fixed and released) so I’m guessing the trapping really frightened her. First few vet visits I got her in the carrier but she thrashed so that she injured herself. Only thing that has worked is to give her gabapentin (RX through vet) a few...
Most cats love those Churu cat treats. I know when my cat is being fussy, if I squeeze some on her food she eats it right up like nothing else.

Also, I’ve had some recent luck with this meal topper..my girl decided she hates...
I would have them check your cat’s heart health. Sometimes coughing can be connected. My former vet wrote off my concerns about my previous cat saying it wasn’t asthma and not to worry, then she died suddenly at 4 years from heart failure. I’ve since learned that the coughing might have been a...
Depending where you live, some vets offer mobile visits. That way, if you stuck her in a bedroom, maybe with the aid of a sedative, the vet could do their work.
My cat was adopted at 8 months “semi-feral” with a clipped ear from being caught and released. While scared at first, she is super...
My cat likes Tiki Cat Chicken and Egg. It’s fairly low carb, high protein and a little goes a long way (high calorie). While I agree wet is best, my cat wouldn’t eat anything between morning and 5pm if I didn’t give her a touch of dry food to hold her over. Her diet is about 80% wet 20% dry. As...
Chewy is fantastic! My orders almost always arrive the next day with standard shipping. More than once they have given me a complete refund when my cat simply didn’t like the food. I also trust their product more than Amazon. I’ve heard of a lot of counterfeits on Amazon. Great company.
Honestly, I’m sure people will disagree, but I think the Fancy Feast pates are a good option Affordable, low-carb and cats actually like them! I’ve tried the expensive foods…my cats could not care less. She also likes Merrick and American Journey. She hated Wellness and Weruva.

First time I saw this, apologies if it has already been posted. My cat loves FF so no complaints from me. With my luck, she probably likes the artificial stuff hahaha.
According to their website, these changes...
I personally would stay away from Hills. I fed my cat that specific recipe and she actually gained weight. I think it actually contributed to her passing. I’ve since read up more on ingredients and see what a crap product it is. I now feed my new cat mostly wet but some dry (she likes Tiki Cat...
My cat also has it. The doxy did help. We did about 10 weeks. Chose not to go onto steroids because of how harsh they can be. Switched her to Okocat soft litter because I heard clay can be painful if embedded in the paw. Time has really helped post doxy. Her paws aren’t entirely normal but much...
Might be Pillow Foot. My cat has it, it’s an autoimmune disease. It never gave her any pain but could if left untreated. My vet put her on a long cycle of doxycycline and that helped a lot. A few months later, she’s mostly in remission. I was very upset at first when I realized my poor baby has...
I too combo feed wet and dry. My cat likes Tiki Cat Born Carnivore Chicken and Egg. It’s high calorie so a little goes a long way despite being a tad pricier. It’s fairly low carb too.
Chewy has refunded me many times before for damaged cans or if my cat simply didn’t like it. I never had to send the products back. Recently, they’ve had me send items back with their prepaid label. Never had to do that before, guessing it is a policy change. Had it happen twice.
I rotate a handful of brands and flavors of wet pate throughout the week with no issues. I believe it’s dry food only that you mostly have to worry about switching up.
My previous cat was also on Hill Science Perfect Weight. I was pretty naïve and didn’t realize how loaded with carbs it is. I always thought Hill Science was a quality brand. She didn’t lose an oz the entire time she was on it, and frankly, I think it contributed to her young death at 4 years...
My cat was fed Royal Canin at her foster…got her off that quick. Expensive junk with too many carbs IMO. Transitioned her to American Journey Dry Chicken (and wet food), she really enjoyed that. Wanted something with less carbs so tried Dr Elsey’s. Great ingredients, horrible texture (crumbles)...
I stopped giving my cat Dr Elsey’s due to the crumbly texture of the most recent batches. Too much was going to waste because my cat couldn’t eat all the pieces. Weirdly, I felt like my cat was peeing less on this food, I don’t know if the extra protein was messing with her. Final straw was the...
On a related note, how often is it ok to feed fish treats? My cat loves those Tiki Broths, most of all the salmon ones but I know fish heavy diets aren’t good for cats. Would once a week be too much?
My cat initially hated all confinement, including being forcibly held for claw trimming and medicine. She has always loved to cuddle on “her terms”, though. As a compromise, I always wait until she is cuddly and sleepy or busy bird watching. I usually take those times to quickly drop her...
Not sure about others, but for me, the moat method is putting the pate on the plate and I mush it up slightly and then I add water around it, but not on top. This creates a “moat” effect around the pate and the pate itself doesn’t get soupy.
