    Vetco rabies

Does anyone who has used vetco know if they offer the 3 year purevax non-adjvanted rabies vaccine? I tried calling and couldn’t get a hold of anyone and my vet only offers the one year one. The vet tech even said there’s only a 3 year dog rabies and not cat. Forgot to ask the vet himself.

What’s your favorite pet health insurance?

I have both cats on lemonade and so far liking it. When I signed up only Oliver last year he had a history of diarrhea at the vet but bc it had been over 1 year, they didn’t consider it pre-existing. I pay around 214 per cat (including visit fee), $250 deductible, 20k limit annual and 90%...

What pet insurance do you have?

I did a lot of research on what pet insurance to get and requested many quotes from different companies. Thought to start a thread to help other who are considering it. I ended up signing with lemonade for one of my cats. I paid $225 for the whole year ( I think there was a 5% discount for...

What was your biggest vet bill? What happened?

My biggest so far was when we first adopted Oliver as a kitten last year. The day after we adopted him, he was diagnosed with ringworm. In total with meds and pcr panels it was around $250. Which doesn’t include the cleaning supplies and blankets. I just signed up for insurance so hopefully it...

Cat Confidence And Introductions - Ideas, Experiences, Confidence Building Exercises.

Thank you! I have then both in Separate rooms now. I only let them together if it’s meal time and once that’s over I guide the aggressor back to his room. So far it’s been good and he acknowledges the new cat but goes back to eating. I’ve been also doing blanket swaps and room swap too. Before...

    Saving a bad introduction

I’m having similar problems with my two :( I adopted a new cat about a month ago and my residential cat is not having it. Neither is hissing (which at this point I rather have) but as soon as the barrier is gone (I’ve been using a xxl dog crate and swap the two daily for scent ) my residential...

Cat Confidence And Introductions - Ideas, Experiences, Confidence Building Exercises.

Hi! I just found your post. Do you have any recommendations for building confidence? I just got a new cat. He’s able to walk around the house and jump onto the very top of the cat trees and wall furniture without much problems. I don’t really think he’s a wall flower. BUT my residential cat...

When do I know my cats are ready to meet face to face?

Definitely not playing. I heard screaming and my resident cat would be puffy as I separated them. I’m trying to find a super good treat or a toy I can distract my residential cat with while both are in the same room without a barrier. Hopefully with time he will be okay

When do I know my cats are ready to meet face to face?

It’s weird cuz the barrier is see through. I have a xxL dog crate that I swap the cats in so they can see, smell each other wnd even touch each other without me having to worry one will go after the other and they are both great with it. But as soon as they are together with in a room without it...

When do I know my cats are ready to meet face to face?

Back with an update. My residential cat is NOT okay with being face to face WITHOUT a barrier. With the barrier both smell each other, paw at each other, roll around or walk away. No hissing, no puffy tail, nothing. Thought it was going well so I let them meet and it horrible. Fur was flying and...

Just got back from the vet. He said it was the spermatic cord poking out bc he was messing with it. They pushed it back in and I put on the cone. Hopefully he gets better

Something coming out of neuter incision??

My new cat was just neutered two days ago and last night I noticed a red mark on one testicle. It looks like something is coming out?? He took his cone off and refused to have it out on and since he’s new, I didn’t want to force it back on (my other male was neutered two weeks ago and didnt need...

    DLH or possibly something else?

We just adopted a new cat from someone rehoming him. He’s adorable! We always wanted a long hair cat and his looks was everything we wanted. I’m assuming he’s a DLH but his face seems to be bigger and rounder than my friend DLH but not sure if it’s just his fur.

When do I know my cats are ready to meet face to face?

Thank you both! Oliver (resident cat) is 1 years old and Haru (new cat) is 3. Both young but I’ll give it a day or two more and then let them meet without a barrier.

When do I know my cats are ready to meet face to face?

I just adopted a new cat from someone who couldn’t afford to take care of him anymore. He was neutered and has fully recovered. I’ve been starting slowly. First with smell and sound. It’s been a week or so and Oliver (residential cat) is not puffing up anymore. Still very curious but not puffy...

    Unvaccinated cat with vaccinated cat

Hello, I might be adopting a cat from someone who can't take care of him anymore. Based on what the owner said, he was adopted from someone else prior and was not told of any vaccinations and now this owners also never gave him shots so I'm assuming he's never received them. I can arrange for...

    Ringworm - encouragement needed please

Little hairs are great! It means you guys are on the right track. When we were dealing with RW it was on the tip of the tail and started with a few fines hairs. RW can take a bit to get rid of but keep it up!
