Unidentifiable lesions on hind leg, anyone seen something similar?

Is it a fungus? I'm attaching part of an article from Cornell Veterinary College on skin disorders in cats. If you go to their site you may be able to obtain more ideas on this subject.

Trapped a stray! Plz Help with Socializing Winnie!

I think Plan B is the way to go!! You've put too much work into this cat (for which you should be highly commended) to give him to someone else.

2 Feral Kittens - Rehome or Keep - Need Advice

Thanks fionasmom and solomonar - all good thoughts!! We do have several reliable rescue groups in the area. If I did decide to go that route, I would want to keep the kittens with me and have them adopted from my house, so the rescue group wouldn't have to take them in and support them until...

2 Feral Kittens - Rehome or Keep - Need Advice

Hi fionasmom - thanks for responding. We're able to take good care of our 9 cats and they get along with each other. We could take good care of 11. I'm worried about the few cats we have now who seem to be upset with newcomer kittens. Maybe they would get over it in time maybe not. I'm also...

2 Feral Kittens - Rehome or Keep - Need Advice

:) OK one vote to keep. Our health is good so far. We have a few cats who may possibly outlive us. I'm already thinking about who we could entrust the cats to if something happens to us. But maybe the kittens are possibly young enough and haven't been with us very long to be happy with someone...

    Singleton aggressive anti social behavior

I've been watching the 2 kittens I have "rough play" with each other for 4+ months. At first I thought like you - they're playing way too rough and thought they would hurt each other. So, I googled "when kittens play rough" and learned that it's a natural instinctive way they learn and...

2 Feral Kittens - Rehome or Keep - Need Advice

First - I have 9 cats of my own who were all stray/abandoned at one time. They are indoor/outdoor with their own cat door(s). They all get along with each other with no problems. The oldest is approx. 11 years old, the youngest is approx. 2 years old. Around Thanksgiving 2020, I rescued 2...

Cat not urinating.please read Help - Members in India?

Cats don't need to drink water everyday if they eat wet (canned) food. If he peed normally that's a good sign. You may be worrying unnecessarily about his temperature fluctuations daily. That might be normal, as someone else said Fionasmom maybe? He might be depressed and dull because he's...

    Cat gum disease and FIV

No. It's not the same thing. FIV is feline immunodeficiency virus in cats, similar to human AIDS but not the same thing. The mouth ulcers and receding gums could be a result of his weakened immune system or something else entirely. It doesn't necessarily mean the virus is progressing. Your...

Our sweet sick boy came from an odd shelter

The limited ingredients in the Ziwi are good, but I would try Blue Buffalo cat food for sensitive stomach. Make sure he has fresh water to drink every day also. I know I keep touting Blue Buffalo, but I've had good results with it for years - much better than any other brand I've tried. IBD...

Our sweet sick boy came from an odd shelter

Sorry - didn't see the other posts. That's a piece of mussel shell - I just looked up Ziwi Peak rabbit and lamb canned cat food. Mussells are one of the ingredients. Some of the shell most likely gets mixed in when they manufacture the food. Don't think mussel shells (or bones) are good for...

Our sweet sick boy came from an odd shelter

The little bits of "bone" you're seeing sound like tapeworms. They look like little pieces of rice. Has he been dewormed with Drontal (which is best for all types of worms). Worms wouldn't help and may be contributing to his diarrhea.

Socializing feral older kitten - is it time to stop?

Sounds like you're on the right track - keep at it. The mounting bit with the kittens will lessen once his hormones subside after his surgery - takes a while. Could be he doesn't like other cats in his "space" - which is his crate. Can you let him out of his crate to mingle with the other...

I think I found my lost indoor cat after 3 years living with a feral cat colony - will she ever be the same?

Try going back to where the caretaker said he saw her and leave a dirty article of your clothes there. Go back later and keep going back. She may remember your scent and stay around the piece of clothing. Keep going back and calling her name. I think she will come out of hiding eventually...

Sick with guilt about death of feral

OMG Brady is absolutely stunning (I say IS because he's still with us, we just can't see him.) You got a double whammy - it must have broken your heart (again) to see Crosby grieving after losing his best friend. I hope he's better now!💕

Socializing feral older kitten - is it time to stop?

I agree with furballsmom - I think he just needs more time. 4 months isn't too old to socialize a kitten - I'm certain he'll come around if you keep spending time with him, talking to him and sneeking pets when you can. (Tip I learned somewhere - when you want to touch him, don't approach his...
