Safe to do Distemper, Leukemia, and Rabies together?

I kindof just like the sound of that knowing how Yuri has reacted to vaccines in the past. I've made a single appointment, with plans to talk to the vet there and decide on a plan, so I'll probably be leaning towards staggering the needed shots just a little while remaining open to the vet's...

Safe to do Distemper, Leukemia, and Rabies together?

Yes, I think this is her first booster after kitten shots. She's indoor, with the exception of a catio (frequented daily) and walks on a harness from time to time. Will def discuss with a vet too, thank you!

Safe to do Distemper, Leukemia, and Rabies together?

From the looks of last years vaccination record, Yuri the siamese had a rabies & distemper shot & then at a later appointment - leukemia.... this year I'm wondering if we can do all three in one appointment. However, Yuri was pretty sensitive to the vaccines last year - they made her very...

    Leaving Kitten at home

Good point that the fireworks can be a test. What timing. The cats were okay last night, there's some checking in from our older cat, Yuri - she'll look to us for assurance when things are scary or unknown. I think my landlady told me there are 7-9 trees total coming down... but at least it will...

    Leaving Kitten at home

Thank you all! I was feeling pretty good about this, but update - the landlady told me that starting on the day we are out of town, a crane/crew will be coming to get rid of some dead trees on the property close to our house. What timing! i know that will be terribly noisy. I'll plan to set up...

    Leaving Kitten at home

Yuri is 1 year and Merida is 7 months. we left them at adifferent home last time, and they didnt come out from under the bed most of the days we were gone. We are thinking about leaving them home...

My cat gets tired of toys QUICKLY

Random suggestion that has worked for me -- my surprising cat toy of the year goes to a graduation cord! it's a shiny rope, and our cat who loves wand toys loves it. We remove the ends that have the tiny tassel strings on them, and found more can be ordered (took about 3 months for cat to...

    Cat-proofing open door

Thank you all! We are renting this house for 6 months so I was hoping to find something more temporary than a screen door... didn't realize it would end up being such a time intensive project anyway. (conversely, any short-term or VERY easy to install screen doors out there? - haven't found...

    Cat-proofing open door

We have a front living room in this new house that allows for a ton of light if the front door is open. This won't work for the indoor cats, however. currently, the door has a magnetic screen, mostly for bugs and we have just installed a fixture/gate that is four wire shelves in an attempt to...

    Surgery Site Lump

Thank ya'll so much. Just wanted to post an update that the vet took a look and could tell the abdominal wall had closed up from a physical exam - no hernia, no infection either from the look & temp. The gunk was glue, and it is gone now, though there's still a little swelling. We kept Meri calm...

    Surgery Site Lump

Called the emergency vet in town, who took a look at the photos and recommended we go to the vet who conducted the surgery. They fit us in for later this afternoon! It's not a second opinion, but it is getting a look at the lump and hopefully that will bring some peace of mind. temperature -...

    Surgery Site Lump

It's a little bigger on the top of the incision site today, matching the bottom in size. Thanks. A second opinion probably couldn't hurt anything, at any rate.

    Surgery Site Lump

The vet was very laid back and told me not to worry. (I'm still worrying though and really appreciate your response). They said it looked like a common reaction to internal stitches. I'm going to do what you're suggesting with the warm compress and also take photos to keep a (very) close eye...

    Surgery Site Lump

Kitten's got a lump after spay surgery. I've already emailed photos to the vet and am waiting for a response there, but aminterested in hearing from ya'll -- is this looking okay? / is it a normal or abnormal reaction to spay?? Lump is hard to touch, kitten does not mind it being touched or...

    RE: OUTBACK JACK CAT ENCLOSURE

I think that was me! My cats love it. We use it with a tunnel and connect it to the window (attached in a cardboard square w circle for tunnel cut out & supplemented by more cardboard shapes to fit the window). This way, the cats can come and go (tho always supervised). We put a shower stool in...

    Merida's New Look: (post-spay fashion)

... we think the vet had some trouble with the IV and shaved both front legs instead of just one. That, coupled with Merida's perfect extra toes and the post-spay surgery suit is truly a one of a kind look. Perhaps not one to be revisited any time in the future, but surely one-of-kind! :p
