The feral-stray that adopted us 2+ years ago is sleeping on our bed with two-fans blowing on her (ceiling and portable). Far cry from the scared and starving cat of two-years ago that was afraid of us and sleeping outdoors year-round.
It seems she watched the weather report of temps nearing 100...
She went to the vet today for her second time for the vaccine boosters and all the blood labs, not very happy with us.
I wouldn't be surprised if she tortures us for a few days as payback..lol
The last lab we had was special, always thought the idea of a once in a lifetime dog was a opinion, but it's not.
This cat now runs the house and is quite a departure form canine behavior, but we're enjoying having her around.
Well not really, seems you can't own a cat. We're in our 60's. retired and life long dog owners until our once in a lifetime dog passed 5-years ago.
We started feeding a feral-abandoned female cat over two-years ago, she was young, skinny and starving. Over the course of two-years she has gone...
We did the usual when she first showed up, posted on nextdoor, facebook and put up flyers on the community mail boxes.
She loves my wife and follows her around like a dog, sleeps on her lap and next to her on the bed at night. She tolerates me
because I feed and play with her.
Anyway we're...
We finally got her to the vet last week (quite a stressful experience for her) for a check-up possible spaying and vaccinations. She also had a FIV snap test that was positive. Taking her back in a couple of week for labs (full labs and a FIV confirmation) to make sure it wasn't a false positive...
Well we felt sorry for this feral or dumped cat and started feeding her. Spent the first year running away from us and spent almost two-years outside. Now she's a spoiled 99% indoor cat. We're both retired and lifelong dog owners, now cat owners (no one owns a cat).
Our feral turned 90% house cat will only eat one flavor of 9-lives canned and only 9-lives dry. All other brands tried have
been donated to the local spca..

We're in the same predicament. A feral or dumped cat started showing up in our back yard two-years ago, skinny and starving.
She would bolt at the sight of us, but we started leaving food out and over 2-years finally now is a 90% house cat. Scared of anybody
other than the wife or me. We would...
