Help - our cats are fighting on top of us in bed every morning!

That's good to know. I'll have a think about how we can adjust their meals so they aren't eating too much, but also spreading out the meals...

Help - our cats are fighting on top of us in bed every morning!

Thanks Casper - I think this could definitely be a factor! The weird thing is they are fine with all four of us being in the bed snuggling in the night - they happily snooze and coexist. Its really just this one hour from 5-6am in the morning. The witching hour! haha

Help - our cats are fighting on top of us in bed every morning!

Right now, they get about 30 grams of dry food at breakfast (6am) and one pouch of 'Hills Science Diet Neutered Young Adult Salmon' at dinner (5pm). No food left out during the day. They both keep a stable weight, but are on the smaller side (9 pounds). We've tried an extra late night meal...

Help - our cats are fighting on top of us in bed every morning!

Thanks you for the tips, ArtNJ! We could try and increase the Second Cat's dinner - she is incredibly food obsessed and would eat all day if we let her. I think she is getting enough food, but the anticipation of breakfast is definitely a factor in riling her up in the morning...so it's worth a...

Help - our cats are fighting on top of us in bed every morning!

Hi All I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and might be able to give me some advice! I have two lively young cats, approx. 18 months. I adopted them separately, the second cat has only been with us about 8 months but she has settled in really well. Both cats love to chase and...

Cat Flu Flare Up - do I need to go to the vet?

Thank you for those helpful tips! I've never looked into cat supplements before, will definitely do some research (especially since I have another cat-flu cat at home, too!)

Cat Flu Flare Up - do I need to go to the vet?

Hi everyone. Looking for some advice. I adopted my cat Snowy (approx. 1 year old) about 6 months ago. I knew she had cat-flu previously when I adopted her, and that cat-flu flare ups can happen. Snowy is having a flare up for the first time this week. The poor girl, I think she got stressed...

    Is this cat asthma?

Hi everyone - its been awhile since I was on here, I wanted to give an update for anyone who is interested. Lola finally went in for her chest x-ray yesterday. I delayed it a bit because the coughing seemed to disappear for about a week, but then it came back. The good news is that the xray...

    Is this cat asthma?

Thank you all! My family cat (who still lives with my parents) also had very severe asthma that was only diagnosed via chest x-ray - he wasn't even coughing actually, which was even more unusual. So I was definitely sceptical, but thank you for re-affirming my need to get the x-ray done! I'll...

    Is this cat asthma?

I agree, it seems too coincidental not to be related to the new dry food! But on the other hand, the coughing attacks happen all times of day and don’t seem to be related to her food (eg today she had one at 5.30am, which was almost 24 hours since she had the dry food). So I’m a bit confused...

    Is this cat asthma?

Thank you all for your helpful comments! I’m sorry I did not reply, life got crazy. Unfortunately poor Lola continued to have these cough fits at least 5-6 times over a two week period before I could get her into the vet. She was looked over by the vet and found to be in perfect health. The vet...

    Is this cat asthma?

Thanks Antonio - your Lola is gorgeous too! I’m so sorry to hear about her asthma. And thanks for giving your opinion that it’s a hairball! She is very fluffy and has been shedding a bit (even though we are going into winter here in Australia!) She seems really well otherwise, I’m going to keep...

    Is this cat asthma?

Below is a video of my beautiful cat Lola. She has had a coughing fit twice in the past 5 days or so. I managed to catch the end of the latest one on video: Cat Asthma? At first I thought it was just a hairball she was trying to dislodge but I’ve been doing some research and now I’m not so...

Diarrhoea after Vet Visits - normal?

Thank you both! I find that feeding her a boiled chicken diet for a few days general helps cure it - I was more curious about whether the diarrhea was linked to the vet visit or whether I should be concerned that something else was going on. Sounds like its quite common for cats to have this...

Diarrhoea after Vet Visits - normal?

My cat Lola has had about 3 cases of diarrhoea over the past 1-2 months. The first time I took her to the vet, they said she otherwise seemed well and to put her on a boiled chicken diet which sorted it out. She’s been back to the vet twice since then, for unrelated issues (she was having a cat...

I think my cat is depressed.

I am no expert, but I just wanted to jump on and say I completely understand how you feel! I was so upset watching our first cat, Lola, be sad and withdrawn when we got a second. It really distressed me and I was worried we'd done the wrong thing. We are now 6-8 weeks into having two cats and...

    Doesn't Understand Drinking?

I wanted to chime in and say my cat Lola (13 months) was exactly the same! For the first year of her life, she seemed totally puzzled by water, occasionally shoving her nose in a bowl and being shocked it was wet! It was bizarre. We tried a water fountain but aside from some rare occasions, it...

Please help! Cat lethargic and licking mouth a lot

For those interested, I just got back from the vet. He has scheduled Lola for an X-ray and ultrasound next week. He still isn’t quite sure what’s going on but wants to keep checking/ruling things out to ensure there is not something medically wrong. He said while it’s rare in cats, her symptoms...

Please help! Cat lethargic and licking mouth a lot

@Tagrendy thank you for sharing that! I decided to give Lola plain boiled chicken last night and this morning, and it seems like this has reduced the gagging after meals a lot So I think everyone who identified her food as the cause was right (or at least, the food is too harsh on her stomach...

Please help! Cat lethargic and licking mouth a lot

Thank you both for that info! I’ve looked at the two foods and they are basically identical (royal canin kitten jelly versus adult jelly). So I’m struggling to see how that could be the cause... but I realised that she has been occasionally snacking on her sister’s food (who eats a different...
