He was on something briefly for elimination, because he was a bit constipated. I think that part of it has been resolved, but the vomiting is out of control. Again, when he vomits, nothing comes up, but he's 'vomiting' like 4-5 times a day now. :(

Thanks! I heard somewhere that blue buffalo wasnt good, or that it had a lot of recalls. Have you ever heard anything like that? I dont know if I have misinformation or not.

Best Cat Food for Potential IBD Cat

Yeah the vet put him on Royal Canin and I tried all the flavors and he hated them all. He was constipated recently and the Dr gave him a medication that helped with that, now I think that problem has past. The vet hasnt recommended daily medications yet, but what you listed sounds about...

Best Cat Food for Potential IBD Cat

I get nervous with raw and recalls, but I'm buying some raw products today from Nulo. If you have any recommended raw brands, please let me know, thanks so much!

Best Cat Food for Potential IBD Cat

So far he's snubbed Tiki, Koha, Weruva, Authority and Instinct products. Wellness seems to have a lot of chicken ingredients and someone said that he might be allergic. I'm trying Farmina dry and Nulo today! This is so hard. I want him to eat but I dont want to give him something that's hurting him.

Best Cat Food for Potential IBD Cat

Thank you so much for your help! I havent looked at Wellness raw yet, but I was just looking at the cans and packets and it seems most of those have the xanthan gum in them, which I was advised to stay away from. Same thing with Weruva, from what I can see. Do you know of any of the pates that...

Best Cat Food for Potential IBD Cat

Hi All, I've posted on here before about my cat, Ray, who's been having chronic vomiting problems and members were super helpful in recommending some different food brands. I'm just trying to find the right match for him. I need to find a good wet, and dry, food without the following: 1. No...

    Chronic Vomiting

Thank you! Yes, I guess it's a dry heaving, although it started out as vomiting and now it looks the same when he does it, but just nothing comes up! Like he'll heave heave heave and open his mouth wide and stick his tongue out as if something's coming out, but there's nothing.

    Chronic Vomiting

Thank you! I called one of the internal medicine drs you recommended; much appreciated! I've read so much on IBD vs cancer and I've stressed myself out. I guess the biopsy is the only way to tell? It sounds like such an invasive procedure to end up with a best case scenario of a diagnosis of...

    Chronic Vomiting

The vet said the dry food was okay as long as he's drinking enough water. So confusing and so many food options! Out of those brands, which do you think are the top two? Thanks so much!

    Chronic Vomiting

I think the vet said they're going to switch him to liquid Prednisolone, once the shot of Depo Medrol wears off.

    Chronic Vomiting

Thank you! I’m bringing him in to get bloodwork redone (last time was in Dec) and he had an ultrasound in Jan ($$$). Vet’s recommending another ultrasound, but I also heard theyre inconclusive for IBD. He also wants to do an endoscopy, but that’s even more invasive and also can be inconclusive...

    Chronic Vomiting

Thank you! I dunno, this vomiting has been pretty consistent since November (with a break for a couple months where we ‘managed’ it by giving him snacks when he’d smack his lips, then he wouldnt vomit. That stopped working and he was vomiting up pools of liquid that progressively got smaller...

    Chronic Vomiting

Thanks so much for the advice! Yes, theres one cat’s only vet here. Maybe I’ll try them. He was given a shot of Depo Medrol and two shots of Cerenia. I’m also worried because they gave him the shots in between his shoulder blades and I read that’s bad. He has a bump there now that I’m freaking...
