And because I know I’m going to get this question: NO neither of them go outside, YES they are both getting fixed. I am very in touch with our vet, everything is in the works  there will be absolutely no more babies here!! Hahaha
A little background info: I have two cats, Milo who’s age is unknown but she is believed by her vet to be a young adult, and Stanley who is 5 months old (and actually Milo’s son, I adopted her and then found out at her first vet check up she had gotten pregnant before I took her in LOL that was...
I’ll have to call around then. They said that there were more potential risks with spaying a nursing cat, but she doesn’t seem like she’ll be letting go anytime soon.
Any tips getting the kittens to wean? Mom has to be weaned in order to get her fixed, and they won’t fix my boy until he’s at least 4-6 months.. I’m worried I’ll end up with more kittens.
I try to distract them with toys when I see them trying to nurse, but both me and my boyfriend work a lot so...
So the kittens had their appointment about a week ago for the first deworming, and a check up. Since then a couple of them have developed diarrhea (maybe the past 2-3 days). I called the vet and they didn’t seemed concerned because they haven’t had any behavior changes. I’m picking up a medicine...
Also, just cause it’s cute, caught little Stanley watching mom eat the dry food and then he decided to try for himself. I look at food wide eyed like this also:...
I forgot to update earlier — everyone is healthy, including mom despite her weight. Vet said she’ll most likely start gaining when she’s done nursing. Her exact words about the kittens were “they’re very...active.” Oh, I know. I know.
I did change to a nonclumping, clay litter that my vet said they were currently using for some kittens in their clinic. As soon as they got the hang of that litter they started using the pine litter also! I have noticed they only poop in the clay litter, though. I have four in the room, two clay...
That’s what I was thinking too, but was confused about the lack of other typical heat behaviors. But it would make sense that with her hormones all over the place it would be a little different. Hopefully it’s over soon
Litter training is going pretty well! I haven’t noticed any accidents...
So lately, like within the last two-three days, Milo (mom) has been meowing so loud allllllll the time. It doesn’t sound like she’s in pain, just being super loud. It wakes us up at night, and I’m worried the neighbors can hear since I live in an apartment.
It seems like she’s directing it...
So I just had a friend gift me a TON of Iams kitten food. They’re currently eating wellness.. can I mix a little Iams in each feeding without hurting their tummies?
Finally got the last kitten to try the “kitten slop” as I’ve been calling it (canned kitten food and KMR). They’re getting more comfortable with the litter boxes as well.
Good to know. They’re 5 weeks today/tomorrow (born before and after midnight). I found the first poop this morning so I threw it in the box to give them an example haha
