I have noticed that my little kittys seem to favour jeans and dislike shorts for curling up in my lap.
It's great reading all these posts and seeing the different way in which our cats like to snooze. As mine our young they do like to sleep in any new area they have discovered. I suspect...
Does anyones cat actually sleep in the beds you bought them. We bought 3 beds, made another one and bought a cat tree with built in hideout bed. My kittens sleep in none of them very often. They seem to love to just sleep on the floor, on the dining table and even on the side of the bath! They...
I got around it slightly, as I use pine litter as well, bought 3 normal litter boxes and then just the one sifting box. I don't use the sifting litter box as a litter box tho, I only use it to sift the litter from the other boxes. I do this every evening before bed and can fit all the sawdust...
We have just bought some cat sticky tape to put dowm on a small area of carpet next to a doorway as the kittens were starting to use it for scratching, so far it has worked very well, almost too well as they were wary of that area in less than a day. They absolutely hate stepping on it. So could...
I am tempted to go against the grain here and be the person no one likes. As I believe re-homing Star could be a viable option
I think you really have to consider what your end goal is. I know you 100% want both cats to have their best life possible and I can totally see the bind you are now...
Like you say at least you will have someone to blame ! Hehe.
I was cleaning the litter boxes the other day and one of my kittens decided to just pee pee where is usually is even tho is was only half a meter away! Good job it was in the bathroom and easy to clean.
I see so you started upstairs so that's their most secure territory area. Do they spend more time upstairs or downstairs, do they go out of their way to use the upstairs box? Can you say close the door to that room during the day? Sounds a tricky situation. I am glad I started mine our in the...
It's hard, us humans are very sensitive to what we perceive to be rejection and we often apply this to our animal friends, especially when we are doing all the right things. Just have to remind ourselves that the cat is not rejecting us, it i just our interpretation.
I guess as vets do not receive mass amounts of nutritional training they may base their opinions from cases they witness in their practice. So they see more cases of food related issues such as salmonella when people have been feeding raw diets and wet foods, and much less with dry. But that's...
I clean all my litter boxes once a day, it takes no time at all, I use the wood pellet style litter, no smell and its cheap, scoop out the poops a quick shake through a sieve tray, pop it in the compost bin/garden waste and its done.
It seems your kittys have decided where they want the litter...
First of all welcome,
I have recently become the proud owner of 2 kittens, We got them at 8 weeks and they are 10 weeks today. So although I don't have many years of cat experience I have recently gone through the whole process of researching and having only had dogs in the past. So I understand...
I am no cat expert, in fact quiet the opposite as I have only owned my first kitty's for nearly 2 weeks. However I did see that on 'My Cat from Hell' Jackson Galaxy would do things like feed them as close to each other as possible without any upset and then he would very slowly repeat this at...
Oh good, so I am best just to take my lead from them. I basically do a morning feed 8-9am then midday after our dinner and one before they go to bed, but they kept asking for food around 10am so I added it in on top as an extra.
My 2 kittens are 9 weeks old and both 1.12kg, I feed them wet foods for their meals and leave a shallow bowl down all day with a little kibble in it, which (surprise, surprise) they don't touch. The girl has eaten the odd piece but rarely. I am ok with them not eating the kibble but feel I want...
We have 4 scratch posts and 2 carboard scratcher but they prefer an old wicker chair that I have, they also tend to want ro scratch when they first wake but atm they tend to lie on thier side and stretch into the air. They don't seem to scratch much yet.
We have used a laser pointer and fishing...
