Putting a collar on my cat

I like having a collar on my cat. It gives me piece of mind knowing that if he were to get out, people would a) know he's not a stray and b) people who might not bother to take a cat in to get scanned, might be willing to call my number which is on his ID tag. Also, in my city it's technically...

    Litter Box Issue

Thanks so much! I'm confident it's the size of the box, and not any other issues as I found "evidence" that the poo on the floor and fallen "over the sides" if you will. My cat is still only about 9 months old, so he may still even get a bit bigger yet.

    Litter Box Issue

I've been using the Breeze litterbox (with another box underneath) and pine pellets for my litter system. I love it for the price and the lack of "litter smell." However, as my cat has grown (got him as a kitten) I'm encountering some issues. He pooped over the side the other day. Today I...

Kittens not using litter box yet - tips?

Wow, your advice was perfect. I picked up some non clumping litter today (part of my Target drive up order due to social distancing), and the started using it almost right away! I know there may still be accidents, but least they have somewhat of an idea now. :)

Kittens not using litter box yet - tips?

Thanks Sarthur2, I will do that. :) They are weaned onto gruel (kitten food mixed with KMR), but only as of recently. When I first got them they were still being supplemented with the bottle, but now they eat enough of the gruel that they are full with just that. I'm not sure of their weight.

I took in a kitten (advice please)

Thank you for rescuing her! You definitely did the right thing. It didn't sound like it was a good time to "wait and see" if she had a mom around as she was in danger from the cold and climbing under cars. She's definitely old enough to not need stimulated to use the bathroom. I agree with the...

Kittens not using litter box yet - tips?

Hello everyone! I'm fostering two 4 week old (tiny!) kittens for my local SPCA. I'm looking for any suggestions you can give me for teaching them how to use a litter box; they have not used it yet, and I have had them for about 3 days. I have a low, shallow container with the pine pellet litter...

Kitten biting my legs in bed

Thanks everyone! For those who asked, his name is Pixar and here's a picture. :)

Kitten biting my legs in bed

Sometimes my kitten (6 months ish) will bite at my legs, through the covers, when I'm in bed. This happens sometimes when I'm lying in bed on the computer before bed. In those cases, I usually end up trying to get him to stop before remembering it's probably better to redirect to a toy and I...

    Pine litter problem

I use this system with a large petmate litter box underneath instead of the tray (the tray filled up too quickly anyway). Then I put a very thin layer of pellets in the bottom tray to absorb any urine that drips through. I scoop poo 1-2 times a day and "stir" ( to make the dust go down). Then I...

Apparently, I've been doing it all wrong...and I'm not alone.

I too am a bad sweater. I use Secret Clinical strength, and rarely have issues. Since I like to shower at night, I just apply it right after showering and I'm good to go. It's a antiperspirant and deodorant combined.

Working and leaving new kitten home alone.

I have a kitten, and he's a "single." I too am at work all day, and I don't have anyone to check in on him on a regular day, but he does just fine. No problems bonding either. I leave out plenty of toys, and, of course, food, water, litter box. Enjoy your new baby!

Tidy Cats Breeze System and Pine Pellets

I use the regular size breeze system. The drawer is really no good for "catching" the sawdust unless you want to empty it all the time. I ended up taking the drawer out, and putting it on top of a large litter pan (I think it's the "Petmate Large." Since it doesn't fit inside perfectly, it...

    Water/dental additives?

Does anyone use one of those additives you can put in water to help a cat's teeth? What are your thoughts on this? Is it really safe for them to be ingesting? What kind do you use, and has it been beneficial? Thanks!

"Sacrifices" and concessions you've made...(fun thread)

Sleep. :) My cat is still a kitten. Sometimes I wake up early on the weekend, and am unable to fall back asleep because he's climbing on me, attacking my feet under the bedding, running around with the zoomies, etc. Not to mention the crazy play time in the middle of the night!

What Are Your Cats Doing Right Now?

Hunting and attacking the lumps in my bedding (including my feet).

    Cold feet or warm feet?

Moderate? I like them the same temp as my body, but I don't like being hot when I sleep. Even if my feet are cold though, I usually can't stand wearing socks to bed for some reason.
