I doubt it impacts trust. I’ve bathed my first cat much to his dismay he never trusted me any less he’d be grumpy and off to himself after the bath but once he was dry and fluffy again he’d back in my lap or in my face like nothing ever happened. I’ve given Orion a couple wipe downs in the sink...
I never seen a problem with it cats are self reliant. I’m a truck driver and my current kitten will be left at home by himself for 3-5 days at a time when he’s older. I’m off on leave so now was the perfect time for me to get him. But I’ll be back to working when he’s around 6months. A lot of...
I have a 3 month old. And he’s on a half wet half dry diet thanks to the shelter. The first day he was here he refused to touch the dry food unless I put down a separate dish with wet food in it. Now a week later he’s only eating dry. I don’t do a meal time I just free feed. My kitten will eat a...
he’s pretty settled in he sleeps with me in bed and has too be touching me at all times when we sleep. As I’m typing this he’s curled in my arm grooming himself. We do 10 min play sessions. Then he follows me around my apartment while I do chores. So far he’s attached to my ankle today when I...
I adopted Orion today from a shelter he’s 14 wks old. So far the first day has been great but I definitely forgot what it’s like to care for a young kitten. When we got home I opened the box he immediately came out and followed me around my apartment pretty much checking everything out while at...
Yes he’s home. Unfortunately I can’t wash him for at least another week since he was only neutered 3 days ago. He does seem to be in good condition thankfully he didn’t come from a horrible situation or was a stray his previous owners seemed to have taken good care of him and the shelter gave...
That’s what I was worried about while the cats and kittens seemed somewhat clean a lot were wearing flea collars and I didn’t want to risk bringing fleas into my home. But the kitten I chose and brought home is 14wks and he was just neutered 3 days ago so no baths for at least a week but I...
Well this morning was a little bit of a disappointment the original kitten that I had liked and fell in love with somehow there was a mix up with the paperwork in front of the cage not only was the age in correct the sex was wrong and to top it off she was already adopted. So after almost an hr...
I’m just speaking from experience we did this for years never had a problem. We went on cruises, road trips, etc. and my cats were always fine. As long as there’s food, water, and litter boxes there shouldn’t be a problem.
You’ll love a Maine. My first cat was half Maine half Siamese. He was vocal which I’m sure was because of his Siamese half. But he was also super loyal, affectionate, feisty, and athletic. We had the tightest bond a cat and a person could have. He was super smart he played all kinds of games...
Are you sure he’s 3 months old? Most kittens are done nursing by 7-8 weeks. Also if he’s suckling he’s probably hungry. Have you tried feeding him when you catch him doing this?
I think it just depends I’ve only had 4 cats and my first cat he didn’t claw any furniture except this old rocking chair that no one used so we gave him that chair everyone knew that was his chair including guests and if you dared sit in it be ready for claws and a cat tantrum from out of this...
Being honest your cat would be fine. I’ve left my cat at home by himself while me and my family went on a vacation came back a week and half later he was perfectly fine and didn’t destroy anything in the house. We filled a medium size plastic container with a whole bag of food he had 2 water...
I’m getting a kitten from the shelter in the morning and while he seems clean enough I’d really like to wash him when we get home. It’s been over 16 yrs since I had a kitten this small I assume washing him in the sink with a hand towel and a kitten friendly soap will be ok?
Thank you I’m definitely taking pictures and videos of the kitten I choose. I can’t wait to go back in the morning and pick him up at least I didn’t have to worry about someone else adopting him while I came home to weigh the pros and cons :D
