    Cat with itchy back

I have a 4 year old cat with a very itchy back. He shows signs of irritation whenever I pet his back. A similar thing happened last year with hair loss but it went back to normal after a while. I do not see any insect bites or skin irritation. Any possible other causes like diet?

Kitten goes 4 times a day

Noted, I'm searching for another vet. The last one was overpriced. I have 3 cats, one 8 year old with no symptoms. The other kitten has occasional issues of bad smelling gas which is not normal. He doesn't have the same problem and he's stronger physically so I'm not surprised by that...

Kitten goes 4 times a day

Antonio65, that is helpful thank you. Can you recommend the type of Panacur? Over the counter or prescription? It will likely have to be a liquid for a cat. saccharomyces boulardii, for human use? Meaning human dose or cat dose?

Kitten goes 4 times a day

Of my two 5 month old kittens, both had an occasional issue with gas in recent months. One poops a lot, 4-5 times a day. It also tends to smell bad, worse than my previous experience with cats and I've known a number in my life. I took that one kitten to a vet and they found nothing wrong...

    Young kitten pooping outside litterbox

Thanks, but the pattern alludes me so far. I see some solid, some partial liquid and that's both in and out of the box. I bought a new litter box too today to swap out one but so far no change. Someone suggested digestive issues, and the kitten may be going more than her brother who I...

    Young kitten pooping outside litterbox

The kitten's behavior varies. For a couple days she seems to be only using the litter box, then today I caught her twice, once on the carpet, and then upon cleaning that area, she went behind the toilet which was only a couple feet from a box. And then just now, she's using a litterbox again...

    Young kitten pooping outside litterbox

I adopted two 9 week old kittens(close siblings), plus I have an older cat in the house. Initially, everything went fine with both using the litterbox. One is still doing so, however the other has stopped and has been pooping on the carpet in various spots for a few days now. I have 3 litter...

    Finicky eater

Sally here has lately become more of a picky eater. She will start eating one brand of dry food, then stop and expect something else. She occasionally vomits up her dry food. I bought her a quality brand which she ate in piecemeal for over a month, now won't touch the 2nd bag of the same brand...

    Cat Itching And Scratching

30 day flea treatment, an obvious typo. No need to be condescending. The 30 flea treatment didn't seem to work effectively with the month time period, not sure if it was the brand or if fleas can be immune to that kind of poison. Same issue on the 2nd month.

    Cat Itching And Scratching

Sally is doing fine for the most part now. Still a finicky eater, but less vomiting. The 30 flea treatment hasn't seemed to work right as she still has fleas. Anyone encounter that before? I tried capstar and that worked for a bit but it doesn't kill eggs, and she is still battling some...

    Cat Itching And Scratching

Good news/bad news. Found a flea in my bed. I checked her more thoroughly and this time found a couple fleas... Weird as the last time she had them years ago they multiplied like crazy. Odd seeing so few. The good news is now I know the problem and ordered some flea medication.

    Cat Itching And Scratching

I was advised by a vet that it is likely a food allergy. She's an indoor cat and there's been no environment changes. I have yet to find an affordable vet and "more tests" are out of my price range. No signs of hairballs, in fast that's never been an issue with Sally. She would usually...

    Cat Itching And Scratching

I also checked her for fleas, but she's clean.

    Cat Itching And Scratching

I have a middle aged cat named Sally. She recently has begun to show signs of itching and scratching along her back and neck. Doesn't seem to be really bad but it happens often enough. I read this is likely a food allergy. She used to gobble down the cheaper purina cat food without...
