Thank you! That is excellent information to have and totally makes sense. Fortunately they don't have CH. They are 6ish weeks old currently and (mostly) act like totally normal 6 week old kittens. The only difference I've seen is that they tend to slide off things more than my previous litters...
Hello! My momma cat had a severe infection while pregnant. Likely due to physical trauma. She had 3 healthy kittens, the source of the infection was removed a couple weeks ago and everyone seems to be doing well.
My question - does anyone know if there are any long term health issues with...
Curious what coat pattern/color my little dude has. Fever coat is possible as his mother was exceptionally sick when she was pregnant with with him and his black and black and white brothers both have fever coat. He doesn't seem to as much so though, but it may be because his overall coloring...
Thyroid issues can cause stunted growth in kittens. We've have like 4 thyroid kittens this year and the "story" is always thr same. They eat they drink, they kinda seem OK but they don't develop and wind up still looking like 4 week olds at 7 weeks.
The first one I heard about they thought he...
She had 5 bio babies - 2 girls (torbie and orange) and 3 boys (black, black and white, and the brown tabby). Almost every one is FLOOOOFY except the torbie who is probably closer to a medium hair. The little orange female is easily the most long wavy haired though!
They are RIDICULOUSLY cute...
She's a foster cat through a local shelter who was surrendered at 8 months old, injured and almost 9 weeks pregnant. She (and all 7 of her babies) will be altered prior to adoption as well as vaccinated, vet checked and microchipped. 👍
Okay, thanks! Yeah, I know orange females only happen about 20% of the time but I think long hair is also prettt uncommon. Particulary with a short haired momma. And this little orange female is reaaally a long hair. Girl has got some locks!
I have a 5.5 week old kitten that I an curious to find out if he's a brown tabby or would be considered a tri-colored as he looks like he has, black, tan and white.
I ask because the kitten is a boy and I thought a tri-colored male kitten was about as close to impossible as you could get. He...
I said girl, boy, boy too so maybe we are both right. I asked for a new pic of number 3 cause it's not great and the second was worse. LOL!! She's gonna wait until next weigh in to try again. :-)
Okay, finally had babies last night! 3 tabbies and 1 solid white baby that was still born. I think it's girl, boy, boy but it's hard since I only have pics. Pics are front, back, bottom of each kitten. @lutece @StefanZ @Willowy
Just as a warning, kittens can start climbing out of open top kennels shockingly young, as norachan mentioned. Even the totally flat sided panel ones they can get out of welllllll before 14 weeks.
The closed zipppered ones I have used for a single 3 month old while supervised. No idea how well...
I agree with @Norachan on the weighing part. It's shocking how quickly they can go from being nice and healthy to very very not at this age. Weighing is one of the quickest ways to know if you may have a problem. Seeing them latch is excellent! Seeing nice round bellies is even better! Knowing...
She's done 3 tests. 2 ForHome Blood SNAP tests and one IDEXX Serum test. I don't think she is going to do a IFA as they are suuuuper expensive here. She is planning to surrender the whole brood to a shelter here that specializes in FeLV kittens/cats to try to give them the best shot. Sometimes...
