I have 2 of my cats chipped through Home Again. The registry was free, I believe (it’s been a while since they were chipped). However, if you want to be able to have Home Again send members e-mails alerting them of your lost pet, and other extras, you have to pay a yearly subscription fee. It’s...
I would recommend you find a vet you trust and bring up your question/concerns to them. It’s always better than researching yourself on the internet where data can be distorted and people may have hidden agendas.

She has mostly down hair that I can see. Most of it is squiggly like that. She has some guard and awn on her head. I’m sure she has a mixture of all 3 types of hair all over, it’s just the down hair looks more dominant.
My cat does this too if I try and restrain her (her name is Luna) to do something to her. She’s on the hefty side, and she’s a lot stronger than she looks. She’s very sweet and docile otherwise. But grooming and giving medications to her is a pain.
I have a DLH Tabby and she is fearful of getting groomed. I can’t bring out the brush or she runs and hides. She’s never liked grooming, but she used to let me brush her. She’s gotten worse about it since we moved about a year ago. Now she is getting mats since she’s making it impossible to...
My indoor-only cats don’t wear collars, although I am considering getting one. My outdoor cat wears a collar with all my info on it and informs people that he is microchipped.
I got all 3 of my cats chipped. It was painless for them because they did it when they were fixed. They have had no problems with the microchips. I doubt they can even feel them. 2 of my cats are indoor-only, but I do have one that is indoor/outdoor. I feel a little more assured knowing they’re...
Ollie also is very intense with affection, especially with humans. He purrs so loud and insistently when being cuddled. He is very needy when it comes to affection and kneads with his claws a lot. It hurts me but I endure it because he’s so content while doing it. He also likes it if you pet him...
I do think most of it is play aggression. I don’t think he ever learned how to play and I definitely don’t think he was ever able to pick up on signals from the other cats that he was being too rough. The other cats do avoid him at times and are a bit intimidated by him. He does pull out fur...
Thank you for all your help and suggestions! I have noticed before he attacks, he acts like he’s going after prey or a toy. He crouches down, sometimes wiggles his butt and then pounces. I haven’t noticed him being startled and lashing out. I will observe him further. I will see about him...
Ollie is now 6 and I’ve had him for 6 years. I’ve had my oldest, Rocky, for almost 10 years (he will be 10 in October), and I’ve had Luna almost 8 years (she will be 8 in July) Rocky was about 6 months when I found him outside. Luna was just a kitten when I found her outside.
