    Fostering - What To Expect

Just to show everyone how much easier it is to foster than most realize. We are going to see my family who are vacationing at the beach this week. Of course, I cannot leave the little ones at home all day so for the second year in a row, I will be bringing the fosters along with me. I just take...

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

I have reached out to over 20 programs/groups/grants without much luck. I did get an email to call one grant back this coming Tuesday so we will see. I gave our mutual friend all of my contact information to give her and she should be contacting me next week too. I want to help her get a Waggle...

    Fostering - What To Expect

We must be related because I have the same gene! Little Dale was a bit feral on Monday and would fluff up when I opened their kennel but that’s long gone now. He comes running when anyone approaches the kennel now and hops right into your hands. It only took a couple hours for him to start purring.

    Fostering - What To Expect

I took my 5wk old foster in for a check up on Monday and a kitten that was around the same size and age had been brought in after being found in “a car engine”. So we got an adorable little addition to our foster family. Meet Dale:

    Fostering - What To Expect

Where do you live? General area, of course. I wouldn’t want anyone to get stalked!! My county doesn’t have any programs either. The shelter “partnered” with Pawmetto Lifeline (a “low cost” clinic in the neighboring county) but it is NOT helpful. I’m seeking help for a local woman who’s mother...

    Fostering - What To Expect

@catsknowme- I’m never short on IDEAS but I have idea NO how to implement said ideas. I live in a predominantly rural county in SC that has very little cat oriented assistance for it’s residents. No cat rescues, TNR programs and even the county shelter will not accommodate cats (much less have a...

What Is This On The Cat’s Ear?

You might not have adopted her but it sounds like she adopted you! I’m sure you have heard “Cats pick their owners.” Just enjoy being one of the chosen!

Sharing A Brush With New Kitten

Congratulations on your new furry addition. Cats mainly recognize each other through scent. I have seen mother cats accept new kittens by rubbing some of her litter on them so they smell like her. I love to do side swapping to help introduce new animals to each other and having them eat on the...

What Is This On The Cat’s Ear?

Probably this: Cutaneous Horn: Pictures, Removal, Causes, and More If so, it’s not dangerous. Just one of those strange things

    Fostering - What To Expect

My 20yr old son just moved into an apartment complex that has mostly college students living there and it is pretty strict too (having to house a few hundred college students, they have to be). However, they DO allow their tenets to foster without even having to pay a pet deposit. The word has...

Do You Think My Kitten Is An Albino?

As a general rule of thumb, white cats with blue eyes should have their hearing checked early on. It’s so much common for them to have full or partial deafness. When I went to the shelter to take my fosters in for a check up, I saw two white kittens in a cage and one had hereochromia (one green...

    Fostering - What To Expect

Thank you I am constantly trying to talk people into fostering. Really ANYONE can do it and it’s the difference between life and death for these little ones! Most people don’t realize that in 90% of our shelters, if there’s no foster home for these little ones, they are put to sleep the SAME DAY...

    Fostering - What To Expect

I have been fostering for our local shelter since last August (2018). Since I got started late into kitten season last year, I decided to make a goal to foster 20 in 2019. I’m currently up to 14 this year with two 14wk olds (kittens that were previously fosters that lost weight when they went...

Do You Think My Kitten Is An Albino?

Lol... cats are weird in general but each one is unique in said weirdness! I don’t believe she is an albino. Her eyes look like she has heterochromia (2 different colored eyes). Cats with blue eyes (including one blue eye) and are totally white (or nearly totally) have a much higher risk of...

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

I’m still trying. I contacted about a dozen possible resources. So far 5 have responded that they couldn’t help. I’m still hopeful. There are another 4 I just found out about that I will be emailing today.

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

As for the crowdfunding, I have found a great one called waggle.org. It’s specifically for pet campaigns and 100% of the profits go straight to the vet/clinic. I have sent that information to her but it will take a little time to get it together. I certainly don’t mind helping her get the word...

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

I haven’t called any veterinarians in the area because they are ridiculously expensive (just getting my 2 cats microchipped and fixed with their yearly vaccinations was $841) and most veterinarians wouldn’t around here wouldn’t have room to do 38 cats even if she could afford it. We could try...

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

I just tried to sign up for next door.com but our community is so rural that I would be the “founding member” so there’s no one else on the site in my area, much less anyone who would know of TNR resources specifically. I did email alleycat.org to see if they had any information or ideas.

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

I have been emailing as many organizations, grant sites and programs that I can locate. Since we are a relatively low income and quite rural area, I can understand how much stress she must be under. I would venture to say my family is around middle income for the area and we certainly couldn’t...

    Tnr Sos In Gilbert, Sc!!

This is awesome! I have been emailing various programs, grants and organizations that I have found online all evening. I’m praying one of them can come through for this poor woman. I don’t know her personally but anyone who is willing to try to take this on even after such a loss is worthy of...
