    Flea Concern/medication

Is capstar a pill or a topical? My dog receives monthly sentinel for heart worm prevention. My kitten hasn’t received anything yet for heartworm prevention. I was hoping to find a chewable that did both heartworm and fleas in cats but that doesn’t seem to be an option like it is for dogs? I...

    Flea Concern/medication

My concern is not necessarily about them receiving a topical, but if they were to lick each other while having the topical on them. I know the medicine is not supposed to be ingested and could cause harm if they were to swallow some....if I don’t have any other good options I will go this route...

    Flea Concern/medication

It’s crazy you mentioned this spray because I have actually used it on my kitten. I am so glad it works well for your cat! My kitten actually had a nasty reaction to it- he spiked a high fever and we had to make a run to the vet. I thought it would be the perfect solution because it is a natural...

    Flea Concern/medication

Hello! My kitten is about 4 months old and has acquired some fleas after a visit to the vet. I have no other cats but I do have a dog. I have been attempting to eliminate these fleas without medicine using a flea comb, vacuuming often and thoroughly and using a lit up flea catcher thing at...

    Encouraging Snuggling/petting

Haha, you are so right! I have had cats in the past that would settle into your lap and be content to sleep there for hours! I do hope you were able to escape at some point lol. While the idea of another precious kitten is quite tempting, it isn’t a wise choice for me currently. I will be...

    Encouraging Snuggling/petting

Thank you for the words of wisdom! I recognize that he is going to be who he is going to be, but if I could find ways to encourage an enjoyment of snuggling I wanted to make sure I was doing the right things. :) I like your idea of picking him up and interacting with him and slightly stretching...

    Encouraging Snuggling/petting

Thank you both!! I am hopeful that as he gets older and more relaxed he will enjoy being in my lap. I will definitely start to use the call sound idea so he can associate it with being pet. He really enjoys laying next to me, just not on my lap so hopefully that naturally changes as he matures. :)

    Encouraging Snuggling/petting

hello! I have an almost 4 month old male kitten that I have had in my home since he was a week old. He is a wonderful addition to our house and I absolutely love him. My question is about socializing him. I have had cats growing up, but I absolutely love raising, training and bonding with dogs...

Kitten Reaction To Natural Flea Spray?

I appreciate the follow up and that information very much. I will definitely be reading up on that information about essential oils as I did not know how dangerous they are to cats. That’s part of why this site is so helpful. :) I have spent a lot of time making sure I give only the best to my...

Kitten Reaction To Natural Flea Spray?

I have had already had conversations with my vet about what to use and will proceed forward with that knowledge in mind. This is a wonderful place to ask for advice, encouragement and guidance and I have appreciated the kindness and wisdom of so many here. Please don’t ruin that. I have a great...

Kitten Reaction To Natural Flea Spray?

Perrin’s fever is back down and the vet says I can come pick him up in about an hour after he checks his temperature one more time. He expects a full recovery and called the company of the natural flea spray to make a report of the reaction. He said they said to have never had this type of...

Kitten Reaction To Natural Flea Spray?

Thank you, I will. That makes me so angry. They state on the bottle it is safe for cats of all ages and then put something toxic into it! Ugh, I feel so bad for my boy :(

Kitten Reaction To Natural Flea Spray?

So I have a 9 week old kitten that I fostered and then adopted. He’s had a rough start to life, getting sick from his momma at a few weeks old, reacting poorly to a vaccine at 7 weeks (104.5 fever) and currently having loose stool. Other than that he has been eating well and playing well...

    Saying Goodbye To Fosters

Apparently I spoke too soon. Perrin’s vet visit went well, but this afternoon he seemed more calm than normal, and now is lethargic and has a 103 fever :( I have no idea what would cause that...he didn’t get any vaccines at the vet or anything. Sigh. Positive vibes would be great. I’m feeling...
