As Feebys said in an earlier post - Good Luck.
That's not to be critical - and I think your work can help in other things. Cats are what I would call semi-tame. They aren't like dogs. It's just nature.
I know this is a cat site - but I thought some might enjoy this true story.
I grew up in Southern Illinois - not that far from Kentucky - Interstate 57 went very close to our little town going to Chicago. I had a good friend (Garry) and sometimes we would go rabbit hunting in the morning (we...
Cool...but you have to be a little bit realistic...raccoons, skunks, C-yotes, and other mammal predators will certainly prevent your outdoor cat from a comfortable sleep like you have.
As a general rule - Greyhounds are pretty calm - not aggresive dogs. As far as the rest of your difficuties - well you brought those on yourself :) Good Luck!
I don't want to be negative on this Jlr92 - but some dogs just don't get along with cats - I had a Border Collie that was a known cat-killer. He was primarily an outside dog but when we let him in we put the cat in the bedroom and I kept my eye on him.
When we moved from Denver area to Atlanta...
Interestingly - I bought a computer setup via the internet a few years ago and it came in a really solid cardboard box (two-ply) and I made it into a "cathouse" for my patio. I put a small pet bed from Biglots on the deck and made a kind of pointy roof with a carpet cutter thingy and some duck...
Funny story..I had a semi-feral yellow and white striped cat with big ears that hung around my patio. I gave it some "bites" but it seemed to come and go as it wished. Once I left the sliding glass door open and tempted it in with a few kibbles. It came up on my lap and ate a bit or two and...
Thank you - I think you are terrific too. I don't mean to be too negative about the local "cat savior" group - but they came in and seemed "Hollier than though attitude" and said a bunch of stuff - kind of putting me down to be honest - and then they just left.
So my opinion changed to - guess...
To be totally honest - there was a "cat group" over at this place a while back and they caught one cat and had it spayed and did the "ear-clip" thing and I old them that there was a bunch more and I would help them. But they got their one and lost interest and went somewhere else for their next...
Rotisserie chicken works great - I don't do it very often but sometimes I get one and peal off most off the skin and the edge wingy things and pass them out (no serious bones) - cats go WILD - they love it
I know I shouldn't feed the local semi-ferals but I live in a complex around a small lake and I figure "what's the harm" - I've never seen a rat or even a mouse around here ;)
I just buy them the pretty cheap stuff (Pet Pride - Indoor Formula) from Krogers and I give them a couple "cups" or so...
A lot of it depends on the weather and the general "surroundings" - if the kitten is in a safe place (no raccoons) and it can survive overnight - you are right. Kittens do tend to dehydrate pretty fast though.
That is usually correct in most situations - maybe 90% of the time - but there are times where the mother simply doesn't come back - not from a lack of motherly spirit but maybe because she scared or intimidated and had to make a choice. I have seen this sort of thing before and maybe I am...
From the looks -I would say your cat is partially Abby judging from the ears and the eyes - I had a mix before and I know a bit about this. How athletic is your cat? Abby's tend to be more athletic than other cats. Also, is your cat VERY curious - granted that cats are curious in general but...
