Woo hoo, we have a morning poo, and a pretty big one too. Didnt seem too hard and didnt take long to pass. I'm as excited as when my little son first started using the toilet. Haha. Gonna give more wet food today. Also read the deworming meds (which he had yesterday afternoon) can affect...
Articles are really helpful thanks all. Sounds like we have underfeed the poor thing so far. Says give as much wet food as wants so its feast time I think. Re the butter..do we just offer a teaspoon amount from our hand? Take it this aids bowel movements?
Ok. Gave his bum a wipe and placed in the litter tray. He just jumped straight out.
We gonna just give the wet food for now and leave the dry. Hopefully he goes tonight or first thing in the morning. Fingers crossed.
We are giving a pouch of wet food every day, split into two portions, morning and night. He also has a handful of dry kitten food. I'll try and give him a bum massage and wipe his bottom with a wet tissue as suggested in the article.
Sorry keep on about this guys, just want to make sure our little fella is fine. Today he has had a couple of wees in his tray but no poo. So it's been about 26 hours since the last poop. Is this a concern? He is eating new kitten food so maybe this is slowing his system whilst he gets used to...
Early days I suppose but no signs of distress. Adapting better than i expected. Ok I think I will let him scout around one more room every few days with us there and then put him back in the living room. Are we talking months or weeks before allowing a totally free reign?
Thanks, he seems a confident chap which was needed because my boy is quite excitable around him....in general really lol. How long do you guys think we should wait before we give him the freedom of the whole house? At the mo hes confined to my living room and we take him upstairs to the bedroom...
She did check the teeth ears eyes paws and felt around the stomach. We took out a care plan for £10 a month for regular defleaing, deworming and vaccinations when needed. I am in London so assume this is normal procedure here. It's a chain vets that operate from the petsathome stores so they...
Had vaccination today. The vet checked his lungs with a stethoscope and completed a physical check. No blood tests. Is this adequate? Seller just got back to us re what defleaing treatment was used so maybe she was just busy and I got paranoid
I did buy him from a family who had an adult Male and female living with. Dont know the background of the seller. She didnt exactly furnish us with a lot of details. No info on what she used to deflea....nothing on food given so far or type of litter used....as noobs we didnt know what to ask...
Not sure about the seller. Was private. She had a pair of cats who gave birth to a litter of 5. But anyway great stuff he pooped and peed!!! Just went to the tray and did its business with no fuss. I was so happy to see poo! Lol. Thanks for all the replies everyone. I am a newbie so I'm sure I...
Thanks. The seller said he was litter trained and no accidents so far. Just worried as no pee at all which doesn't feel normal. I'll check out the article. Thanks again.
Hi all, first time cat owner here. I have a 8 week kitten. Came home last night but has not peed or pooped. Seems to be eating and drinking well and no signs of distress. A little shy but has been exploring it's new home well. Showed him the litter tray several times but he just jumps out...
