Another gorgeous tortie! I can't understand why they get passed over for adoption so often (I've read that they're second only to black cats in terms of least likely to get adopted!), they're always so beautiful.
Lol, I have heard neutering affectionately be "brain surgery" thanks to the attitude adjustment that it can cause in rowdy animals. Dwight sounds like a textbook case of that.

Take deep breathes, think positively and hope for the best. But prepare yourself for the worst.
Get the kitten to a veterinarian as soon as possible. You could very well lose him overnight if he's as weak as you say that he is. You might very well still lose him even if a vet does attend to him, but at least you'd be giving the little guy a fighting chance.
Accidents happen- Workmen go in and out, guests and/or children can be forgetful and sometimes remembering to close the door just slips ones mind. Any of these circumstances could lead to an indoor-only cat slipping outside and becoming lost.
