I'm a firm believer that it's never wrong to take the cat to the vet for a check-up, if only to calm your own nerves. It's better to bring a healthy cat to the vet, than to not bring a sick one. So in your case, I would definitely make a call to at least discuss a check-up.
As for pemphigus...
We went to the vet with my mother's cat today as his left eye has been acting up with a dilated pupil. It turns out that he has glaucoma in his eye. The eye pressure was 90 mm Hg, whereas the normal pressure is somewhere around 10-20 mm Hg. Blood tests ruled out FeLV, FIP, FIV etc, but we are...
Good news! I have been giving Älva Cyclance instead of Atopica for the last few days. It's the same medication (ciclosporin), only Cyclance is half the price as Atopica... and not nearly as disgusting! It's such a relief, and I've made sure that the closest pharmacy will have this medication...
I can find no such thing as a compound pharmacy here in Sweden. It would've been handy, though!
The capsules are described as soft, so from my understanding they are filled with liquid. Therefore, they need to be given in one piece. :/
I haven't tried meat only baby food (if that is, human...
Me and the kitty are having troubles with the medication that she needs for her illness. She should be given 0,45 ml of Atopica once a day. Unfortunately, this liquid medicine is absolutely disgusting, and poor little kitty has started to drool heavily whenever I give her the medicine directly...
Congrats to Zuzu! A very cute cat indeed. I hope she will feel better soon! :redheartpump:
Älva is very honored to have come in second place. Thank you everybody!
What a wonderful idea! All your cats are so lovely, as kittens as well as grown up. :lovecat:
This is my Norwegian Forest Cat, Älva. In the first photo she is a couple of days shy of 14 weeks old. The second photo is taken the day before her 1st birthday. :lovecat2:
Now, let's see if I can manage to post in the correct thread this time.
"Happy New Year!" wishes Älva! We had snow for a whole day, so I just had to take her out to photograph her. We stayed outside for a solid five minutes before Älva insisted we go inside again.

Thank you!
They worked fine while I was uploading them, but when I posted they all disappeared. I don't know what's going on, but I'm working on finding a way to upload the images. :)
Silly autocorrect. I meant to write that she SURE loves her balcony. :p
Very well. I actually do have a few pictures fro the last photo session that I didn't share with you here, so I guess I might as well... ;)
And why not one from when she was a teeny tiny little kitten?
Okay, okay...
Älva says thank you for all the lovely responses she's gotten. :lovecat:
I've yet to take her out for a new photography session with the nice camera, but I did snap a picture with the lousy phone camera this early afternoon. Älva cure loves her balcony.
I've used bodies for my female kittens when they were spayed and it worked very well both times. I find it bothers the cat a lot less, as their movements are not hindered. It's good to remove the body at least once a day so that the cat can do some cleaning (not of the sutures, of course).
I...
Hi! I'm so sorry that your at is not doing well.
Did your vet take a test on your cat's urine to see what kind of bacteria she might have if it really is a UTI? That is an important step to know what kind of antiobiotics that will help your kitty, as the bacteria sometimes is resistant to...
