My 2 year old boy gets approx 8-9 oz of wet food daily, split into 3 meals. He weighs 14 lbs and looks pretty healthy weight-wise to me. He’s young and active now, but could maybe be a tad leaner. I’m planning on discussing with his vet at the next checkup on whether I should reduce his food...
Thanks so much for this information!! It makes sense that COVID is causing a lot of issues for manufacturers and suppliers.
I visited my local small pet store again this evening, and they actually just got some Rawz Rabbit & Pumpkin cans in!! Hooray! :hyper:
Thank you for the encouragement! Someday I will try feeding raw. I’ve been researching it and considering it, I just need to get over my fear of the actual handling and prep. Once I’ve made a plan and get over the learning curve, I’m sure it won’t be so bad and it would be worth it.
I have not ventured into the world of feeding raw yet, although I have considered trying it. I personally am a vegetarian and handling raw meat sort of scares me. Maybe someday though! Thank you for the wet food alternatives, I have fed my cat a few types of Ziwipeak and he likes it. I didn’t...
Hi, my kitty’s favorite food flavor is rabbit but right now all of his brands are out of rabbit varieties.
Rawz Rabbit- my local pet store has been unable to get stock.
Tiki Cat After Dark Rabbit & Chicken- out of stock on Petco site
Dr. Elsey’s Rabbit & Turkey- out of stock on Chewy site and...
I tried doing this last night when he attacked me and he looked so sad and confused, it broke my heart 😭 I know he needs to learn biting isn’t OK, but it isn’t easy because he seems just so happy when he’s play biting. After that I got out his feather wand toy and we played with that.
Thanks for your concern. I’ll be honest that it is a serious problem. I love the cat so much and I’d never get rid of him for anything, but it’s pretty ridiculous how I’m quite a bit afraid of him at times and I am covered head to toe in bites and bruises. I will try to scruff and say no louder...
He attacks me randomly- when I’m sitting quietly working or watching TV, or sleeping. Sometimes he attacks when I pet him.
The other big ones are he runs into the fridge or the bathroom every time I open the doors, and I have to get him out, and he’ll start biting me then.
I have a few...
Hi, I’ve been trying to stop my kitten from play biting for months but nothing has worked. He’s now 7 months, almost 8 months old and I’m afraid he’s getting too old to train out of it! Anybody have tips on stopping play biting at an older kitten age when it’s gotten really bad?
My kitty is...
First thing I’d do is visit the vet. Cats are good at hiding when they are sick or injured, but a change in behavior like acting withdrawn could mean something is medically wrong so I’d get her checked out first. If vet says she’s all good, then I would think about if you’ve made any big changes...
Have you tried shaking a can with some coins in it? I recently started this. I keep it nearby and I shake it very softly and briefly because I don’t want to scare my cat too much, and I only do it at the moment when he bites me. I also don’t shake it AT him or in his face because I do not want...
