I just came home to a tube of neosporin completely chewed into little bite marks. She's acting completely normal, still very active, not showing any stomach upset, but I'm of course worried.
Online, it doesn't seem like it's an emergency. She might just have some loose stool later?
Can anyone...
Mitsu goes in this week to get the stitches removed. The lump is still there, but the actual suture site itself looks amazing. Clean, no redness, no discoloration at all. So I'm not going to freak out. Mitsu is acting normally, eating, drinking, using the litterbox, playing, so I think she's...
thank you! It looks very clean, no discoloration or puss. I'll try to get some pics. I took some the first day she came home and it seems to look the same to me. That little hard lump just worried my mama heart :sigh:
We only use a ceramic bowl for him and have done so for a long time now...
Your kitty's name is Pickle, too??? Show me a pic! :D Mine is attached.
Thanks for the help about Mitsu. I know I'm just being super worried.:sweat:
Hi, over-worried cat mama here :hellocomputer:
Two questions on two different kitties:
Pickle Kitty: he had a reeeally bad case of chin acne a month or so ago. We took him to the vet once the blackheads turned into sores, got him on prednisone for a month, antibiotics, and ointment. It's...
It doesn't look good imo, but I'm certainly not a vet. It's so hard to tell. :( I'm in the same position with a kitten 5 days out of spay surgery, and from her incision site, it's not red or yellow and you can barely see it when she's sitting. Maybe it's a different kind of incision tho? I'd...
I wish it was that easy. She has stitches that need to be removed in 10-14 days, so ideally the cone should stay on until then :rolleyes3: I don't think we or she will last that long. We're basically just trying to keep it on when we can't watch her because yes, she goes right for the stitches...
thank you all! Tried modifying a baby onesie but that didn't go well. lol This kitten is being very bratty about every option!
I was able to fix the plastic cone they gave us. Wife and I finagled it so it's more to her proper size (she's probably an XS, which of course no pet store near us had...
just brought my 6-month old kitten home from being spayed. The vet kept her overnight, said she was doing great, she's acting happy to be home etc. The only issue is she will NOT keep her cone on. She got it off in the crate on the way home from the vet. I've tried 2 types of collars -- the...
Forgot to answer this part! Yes, we only use ceramic bowls and have been cleaning them with hot water and soap daily. This is the first really bad acne he's had. Every now and then he'd get a bump or two but they'd be gone in a few days. This is very severe - his entire chin was covered with it...
Yeah, we decided to do 3ml instead of 3.5, since 3.5 would've been more than the syringe holds for one dose and it's hard enough to administer one :(
I did a lot of research last night, and I guess based on his weight (11 pounds), the dosage is right on the mark. I'm still very cautious...
So my poor baby Pickle has severe feline acne. It went from blackheads to red welts and pustules and it hha been bothering him so badly that he yelps when one of them pops or he accidentally itches it.
Took him to the vet and they prescribed a really high dose of Prednisone, which actually...
I actually just went through this kind of a situation with my kitty. She stopped eating completely and gagged at even the smell/sight of ANY kind of food. We wound up having to get a feeding tube put in place because she had a very abnormal upper respiratory infection centered around her throat...
Also, is she pooping? My cat did that kind of vomiting when he was constipated. Had to get 2 enemas, poor boy, and sub-Q fluids, but then he was fine.
Definitely get her to the vet ASAP because if she can't keep food or water down, she'll get worse.

Hi all!
I posted a bit ago about my cat, Nagini, and her crazy URI that turned into her not eating and getting an etube put in. She got it out a couple days ago, and I'm jut wondering...what should the site look like while healing? The hole area looks crusty and dry, which I assume is good as...
Just updating:
Nagini got her etube out yesterday! I wanted to keep it in longer, but she had been scratching at it almost nonstop and would rather have it professionally removed than her tearing it out :kneading:
She is doing SO GOOD tho. Eating on her own for over a week without any appetite...
Nagini is doing better still today. She had a looseish stool yesterday and another overnight, LOTS of pees, and this morning she gobbled up 1.5oz (half a can!) of Fancy feast and tuna juice!!! I tried blending it into a slurry for her so it would be easier to swallow and she loved that
Hoping...
