Transdermal gels & cat claw trimming

    >> How bad is it? Can you start working with your cat, in tiny increments where you gently touch a paw, stop and walk away, then a few times of this later touch it for longer, then eventually a specific toe etc etc. This process might seem like it'll take forever but it works, it's how I got...

Transdermal gels & cat claw trimming

His claws must be out (I hadn't thought about this question!), as it hurts when he does it. It is occasional. Jasper seems rarely to be in a deep sleep. He usually wakes up at the slightest change. I have to straddle him with my whole body with just his head and two paws exposed (not...

Transdermal gels & cat claw trimming

Thanks for sharing your experience. My cat Jasper really HATES it and runs away whenever he thinks I am walking towards him to pick him up and do it to him. That said, I got two nails clipped before he started to really struggle, and he accepted it rather well. On other days, he squirms like...

Older cat now stays only in living room, refuses to go into bedroom or bathroom; terrorized by younger cat

I have two litter boxes, in different rooms. I'm wondering if the older cat is simply showing his signs of age. He stopped being interested in playing and sleeps a lot now. But he seems quite alert, has a healthy appetite, is affectionate...but will not go into the other room. The younger...

Older cat now stays only in living room, refuses to go into bedroom or bathroom; terrorized by younger cat

I'm actually thinking of rehousing the younger cat (orange tabby), as it's unfair to the older cat. It's not easy, with Corona virus, to do. And, of course, it's really hard, as I am really fond of the orange tabby Jasper.

Older cat now stays only in living room, refuses to go into bedroom or bathroom; terrorized by younger cat

About 7-10 days ago my older cat stopped going into my bedroom or using the litter box in the bathroom. He stays in the living room, mostly close to a corner by the door where he has a "cubby-hole" underneath the clothes hanging in a small closet. He is eating and drinking normally, but he...
