Cat losing hair on the nose

Thank you! This was very helpful. I did check him all over and didn't found any other bald spots (although he has thick coat so it's possible to miss it but I brush him every other day and try to check very carefully). So far there's no redness or scabbing, it pretty much looks the same. I even...

Cat losing hair on the nose

So about a week ago I noticed my cat has a patch of hair missing from his nose. It's not a wound and doesn't seem to bother him at all but is this something I should be concerned about? My country is in a very strick lockdown so I can't go to my regular vet but I could go to the emergency one...

Kitten Attacking A Cat - Please Help!

Thanks, as I said it is entirely possible I'm overreacting. I was expecting rough play but I guess I just wasn't prepare for the older cat be on the receiving end all the time. I might do a video later just to make sure. So I shouldn't separate them? And how long should I keep them together, I...

Kitten Attacking A Cat - Please Help!

Thanks, I'll try to persist. I sometimes keep them together for a few hours but I noticed kitten keeps attacking more the longer they're together. At first it's easier to distract him with toys and he plays with me and other toys in the room and just walks around by himself but at some point he...

Kitten Attacking A Cat - Please Help!

Thank you for replies! I will try the hiss but so far whenever I tried to make a loud noise when this is happening, I just manage to startle the older cat and that just puts a kitten in a better position to continue it's attack. The kitten barely reacts, but I'll try it. He does have a lot of...

Kitten Attacking A Cat - Please Help!

I would really appreciate if anyone would share any advice they have as I really want this to work! I hope I don't have to re-home the kitten. So about a month ago I brought the kitten home and after about two weeks of room swapping and scent swapping I started to introduce him to my resident...

    Introducing Cat To Kitten

I've done it a few times before and the cat actually didn't look scared or aggressive towards the kitten, he just walked around and observed, didn't engage the kitten at all. I haven't done it since I tried the face to face meeting, so I'll do it later today and see if his behavior changed at all.

    Introducing Cat To Kitten

Also, from the a few VERY brief interactions they had, the kitten doesn't look scared at all, but the older cat acts pretty terrified of the kitten. Should I just let them play or try to distract the kitten so the cat could observe him in peace?

    Introducing Cat To Kitten

Hello, I'm currently introducing my one year old cat to a kitten and I have quite a few questions so I thought I would group them up together and if anyone has any advice, please share! Kitten Keeps Biting - Will That Cause Problems With My Resident Cat?

Hello! I was hoping for some advice as I've been really stressing out about this situation. I brought home a new kitten (around 8-10 weeks old) on Friday. We took him from shelter but he haven't really been with other cats much, he was found outside alone and then they kept him in a separate...

Should I Sleep With A New Kitten Or Resident Cat?

Thank you! I'm mainly just worried about stressing out my resident cat too much (he's already easily stressed) so I don't know if not being able to sleep in his usual place with us anymore would be distressful to him. We let him sleep with us from the first day. But I'm also unsure about leaving...

Should I Sleep With A New Kitten Or Resident Cat?

I'm sorry for such a random question, haha. I have a year old cat who sleeps with me in the same room every night. He usually sleeps on the closet (his favorite spot) but sometimes comes to the bed too. He's a very easily scared cat and I was worried about a new kitten but I finally took the...

Should I Get A Friend For A Shy Cat?

He loves to play! He runs around a lot in the mornings or at night (just as we plan to go to bed, haha). He also has days when he can't be bothered to get down from the closet on which he sleeps but usually he really enjoys playing. I keep buying new toys to make play time more interesting...

Should I Get A Friend For A Shy Cat?

Thank you all for the help! I thought about talking to a shelter about fostering (also a friend of my said she would be willing to take the new cat if it doesn't work out for me) but I feel like with my cat it might take a long time to figure out if it works? And if it doesn't, by the time we...

Should I Get A Friend For A Shy Cat?

I do want another cat but not enough to compromise my cats happiness. I think maybe he'll be better living alone. Thank you :)

Should I Get A Friend For A Shy Cat?

Hello! I was hoping for some advice :) I have a year old male Scottish Fold and recently I've been trying to decide on a second pet. Here's a thing - my cat is quite shy and easily spooked (We got him from a breeder so its probably just his personality, not some trauma). When we juat just got...

Would My Cat Still Pay Attention To Me If I Get A New Kitten?

Thank you!! I've been reading about how to introduce cats smoothly even since I got the first cat, but only recently did it occur to me that my cat could become less affectionate and I couldn't figure out where and how to look for answers. This forum seems to have a lot of info :) So far I'm...
