I used to think, as a kid, that when a cat opened his or her mouth, that they were going to end up speaking perfect English. Was so disappointed to learn that was not the case. :lol: :flail:
I have always found it humorous when someone says cats and dogs are natural enemies. They only are if they are shown that type of behavior. But having had both in the same house, my kitty and doggy got along great! They were a great pair.
It's been my experience that you should not go to a great length to try and get a cat to like you...some kitties see this as a phony attempt. Rather, I just was myself around cats, and I have detected that most cats know who is a cat person and who isn't within seconds of observing them.
When I was a little boy, my father brought home a precious Manx kitten for my birthday. Naturally, I thought there was something wrong with her since she had no tail. It took my mother to explain to me that there was nothing wrong with her and that not all cats have tails. I named the kitten...
