    Possible overdose on vermic total

Unfortunately where we live none of those options exist. I have checked the website for the manufacturers and it does mention that 1 whole tablet can be given as a single dose. But it also says 1tablet per 10kg. Even the emergency vet barely ever answers the phone out here. I’ll call in the...

    Possible overdose on vermic total

Hi, my cats caught tapeworms a while back, took them to the vets and they were given vermic total dewormer. We were then given enough pills for a couple more doses at home. I was told to give them every 2 weeks. Well I forgot at first and they got second dose after 3 weeks, but I really...

    Grey Diarrhoea

So they ran cbc and chemistry and just to be sure, toxoplasmosis and the only issue showing is slight dehydration. Weird!

    Grey Diarrhoea

Well we are at the vets now. No fever, no jaundice, mucus membranes are ok, no physical signs of dehydration, just waiting for blood results. Fingers crossed whatever it is, is easily treatable.

    Grey Diarrhoea

Hi, my boy Charlie got trapped in an abandoned house for two days, 1.5nights late last week. He went outside thursday morning, i don't know if he ate breakfast or not that day, we finally found him at 1.30am friday night/saturday morning. It was sweltering hot, it's been 45c 111f here lately. He...

    Cat With Liver Failure

Her third eyelid is showing, this suggest dehydration or infection. Is she drinking water? I would syringe feed her some rehydration solution if possible. The vets should carry a powder that you mix with warm water for cats and dogs. I'm glad she is eating better now and seems healthy.

    Cat Lost Her Voice

Hi all, my Dragon baby lost her voice around thursday night. Its now sunday afternoon. We took her to the vet yesterday, and the vet said just to keep an eye on her for a few more days. She has no signs of a URI, no coughing, sneezing, discharge etc. On friday night she did seem to kind of gag...

    Prednisolone

With the pred, i would talk to your vet about tapering down more than that. Go from once per day to half the dose once per day for a few days and then down to the half dose every 2 days for 2 or 3 doses before stopping all together. Its the coming off that drug that can cause problems. How is...

Would You Just Scrap Dry Food If Your Cat Didnt Like It?

Exactly this! If you can go 100% wet then great, if you can't for whatever reason (feeding times, cost etc) then i would switch to a different dry that he likes. My 6 get wet food twice a day, at 6/7 am and then again around 6pm. They are free fed several brands of dry food. None of which are...

    Useless Vet! Limping Cat

Hi, the second vet was much much better, he had a thorough look and came to the conclusion she had some soft tissue injury. She was put onna course of prednisolone, weaned off of it slowly and is now back to using all 4 legs! She still holds it up occasionally when sitting up and has the...

    Useless Vet! Limping Cat

I don't think it's arthritis, shes only 18months old and has never had any issues before. She's gotten worse today and upon another inspection i noticed the vet trimmed her claws super short! I have complained and will be taking her to see a new vet tomorrow.

    Useless Vet! Limping Cat

I forgot to mention, they did take an x ray, which came back clear. I knew it wasn't broken as A) she was able to hide the limp from the vet and B) she doesn't react when i examined her leg and paw for injury. I just hate not being able to do anything much for her. You know she is in pain though...

Should I Relocate With 8 Month Old Male Cat To A New Home?

I agree, carriers are the safest way to transport cats. Especially if you are able to strap in with a seat belt or at least put it on the floor behind a seat a bit wedged in. A good way to get cats used to carriers is to leave them out and open with some soft inviting bedding inside in your...

    Useless Vet! Limping Cat

Hi all, So one of my babies developed a limp in her front right paw a few days ago. When she sits, she holds it up. She is still her usual self mostly, jumps up on everything, eating fine etc. A little more lethargic in that once she finds a comfy spot to lay in, she won't move until feeding...

Should I Relocate With 8 Month Old Male Cat To A New Home?

I completely agree with this. For the first few weeks or month, you'll know when its been long enough, always make sure there are 2 doors between him and the outside whenever you go in or out. We've just moved our 6 cats and for the time being we aren't using the front door. Instead we are...

Yes, but not at night and she isn't trying to get outside. She is just distressed/disorientated/ struggling with moving home.
