Sadly... My little guy had the same reaction to all of the hyperthyroidism meds.. Even the gel . When my guy was vomiting he would refuse to eat for days...maybe give the gel another day or two to see if kitty adjusts to it. You can also ask your vet about all natural drops called thyroid gold...

Go get blood work done for sure...it does sound like could be hyperthyroidism. Keep us posted, hope everything is ok :)

Other therapies as in what? Iodine treatment is too expensive, we tried the methamazole, the gel form and pills..he would take it/allow it to be applied and at the 10 day mark he would get so sick..wouldn't eat or drink, would hide, vomitting for days at a time (which caused more weight loss)...

Thank you for the kind words :) The reason for the him not taking the meds isn't that I cant get him to take it, just that he can't tolerate them...he would take the pills for 10 days and then get deathly ill...vomitting, lethargic, meatloafing and hiding for a couple days. That happened both...

And his main issue was vomiting after the meds.. so then he wouldn't eat at all...now his appetite is back with a vengeance and he eats his canned Purina grain free and blue buffalo food with no problem..hopefully it won't be too hard for me to get him to take the drops..he knows when something...

Yes..my boy, when healthy, was 12.5 ish pounds... he's down to about 7.5 lbs now.. but he's had a plethora of health issues hit him at once..he has bad teeth, heart murmur, got a cold on top of it all, had bad reactions to the methamazole pills and ear gel..so I am crossing my fingers that this...

I just ordered this..seems to be a good option for us to try since we have basically hit a wall when it comes to treatment. I'd rather spend the money on this then canned food he refuses to eat (science diet thyroid ... $50+ for 24 cans) wish us luck that it helps (even a little)

It is just crazy...he’s so darn picky. I know he’s only supposed to eat that food and NOTHING else, but I had to cave and add a little chicken broth to the food to get him to eat. He’s so darn hungry for something tasty, I may just add the gravy from the cheap store food...I can’t let this...
