    Moving from raw to canned

Ever since I got my Yuki at 3 months old I've been feeding her raw (mostly quail). After almost 3 years, due to a number of reasons, mainly the fact that I suspect she has developed an allergy to that particular protein - I think I have to move her to canned. Which I know she will gladly accept...

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Unfortunately no good news. NONE of the vets are open (despite stating Open on Google) and NONE of them picked up. We drove around for ages and the little guy died in my hands. I saw him take his last breath. I am so gutted and angry. I failed the little kitten. I just could not believe we...

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Guys something's wrong... The kitten seems really weak. He's not struggling or crying for the last feeding. It seems he'd rather sleep. He doesn't feel cool just rather limp. I'm gonna rub honey on his gums but what else can I do? On the plus side, he pooped for the first time.

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Yes the initial plan was to keep him safe and alive till the shelters open to drop him off. But as said by others that may be a bad idea as they'll just put him to sleep. I will still try to talk to all the shelters and explore my options. But I will need to have a plan if that falls through. I...

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

My parking spot is in an indoor basement of an office building so whenever I get in the car I didn't notice any air difference from the outside of the car. But you're right, I didn't consider his small size. :( I'll try and think of another option, coz I definitely can't take him to the office.

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

The temperature would be around 29-32c. I thought that's ideal temperature for kittens if not on the low end? Did I get it wrong?? I've been leaving him in room temperature with no AC. I'm referring to this link https://ccasnj.org/resources/docs/FosteringKittensInstructions.pdf

Also I'm really struggling to get all the milk in him. He struggles like all hell and cries bloody murder and inevitably spit a lot of milk out. What can I do to make him calm down?? Is his system rejecting the milk??

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

@FelisCactus, thank you for the videos. I've always been a fan of Kitten Lady, gonna revisit her videos now. @StefanZ, regarding working days. I'm thinking to bring the little guy to work but leave him in the car in a sheltered carpark so the car wont heat up. I can sneak away to feed him every...

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I honestly don't know what I'm doing or if I'm doing things right. Every time I check on him I expect the worst :(

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Just did the third feeding. Good God he (i think it's a he) struggles so much. I had 3ml in the syringe but don't know how much actually went in. Maybe half? I think he peed this time coz I saw droplets coming out. But still no poop.

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Re shelters: that's disheartening to hear. I will try all the shelters around me, and make sure it goes to a foster person. Otherwise, I have no choice but to foster the kitten myself which I'm not sure how to do as we're working full-time, and on top of that my in laws are visiting for the...

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

I'm in Malaysia, it's a hot tropical country so not sure if I have to worry about heating. It's 30celcius now. I went and got a kitten milk replacer. It says it's suitable for orphaned kittens. The brand is petalac, made in Australia. Is this okay? I looked for petag but couldn't find. Managed...

Also the umbilical cord is pretty long should I cut it? I'm afraid it would strangle itself moving around so much

    Help Found A Newborn Kitten!

Help! Found a newborn kitten outside a store earlier. The staff there said the mom is gone. It was in the middle of a walkway screaming so I couldn't leave it. I only managed to get powdered goats milk which I tried to feed through a 3ml syringe but it struggled so I don't know how much I got...

    Cat-safe Houseplants

Thanks this is brilliant! Is it safe to assume that the adhesive from the tape is not toxic for cats? Just in case some get on their fur and they lick it. You're right, I missed that you have to scroll past all the toxic plants. Thanks!

    Cat-safe Houseplants

Thanks all. Spider plants seem like a good shout. I'm kinda bummed that there's no actual vetted list of safe plants out there, coz I won't even consider plants that are not proven to be completely safe. I have zero plants right now, so it'd be easier for me to just pick ones from a safe list...

    Cat-safe Houseplants

Hi all, Sorry if this is not the right forum but can you cat experts tell me what indoor plants are safe for cats? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information when I Google, so thought maybe I can get a better answer here. Also most people talk about dangerous-for-cats plants, not safe...
