I have no interest in feeding dry at all. But, there's a wet food I am okay feeding my boys from time to time (it's a backup I keep on hand) that I could leave in there. I'll talk to my vet first.

Thank you, yeah the introductions are going pretty well and I'm not too worried about that aspect, I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to harm her emotional well-being having her alone for so long. It will not be 9 hours every day, but on my busy days where the work keeps flowing it will be.

It's not completely flat but it's not those super deep awkward ridges, and I haven't had trouble keeping it clean. It's a sterilite, but I'm not sure which one...I got it at Walmart. I scoop them daily, change the litter completely weekly, and scrub them out every 2 to 3 weeks. Every 6 months...

Haha yeah, the needs of the dog are different than a cat. I stay away from dry completely for my cats :)

To be clear, I use Orijen for my dogs...you just recommended cat food. I agree their cat food is as bad as any other dry food (which is why I noted that I use Savage Cat - not available on Chewy - and Feline Nutrition - too expensive on Chewy).

What would you recommend then?

I agree with the DIY Tote Litter Box. Just a suggestion, try to pick one that is smooth on the bottom...some have a lot of ridges (for easier stacking and storing) that make it difficult to scoop.

I can definitely be a mama cat! But my female dog (brown one in picture) might try to steal that role from me...she LOVES cats and wants to be friends with all of them!
