@cheeser Thanks for sharing :hearthrob: I scrolled thru the list and noticed that most of the food has very high % in fat. In fact, the fat% is always higher than protein%. Is it okay if I keep feeding him food with fat% higher than protein% (such as KOHA, Instinct, ZiwiPeak)? Oh, I also feed...
@cheeser Well, to be on the safe side, I will buy a couple cans at a time  Loki likes it so far and I hope it's not the 1 time thing....
@kittyluv387 How can you tell it's 60%+ fat and 30%+protein? I guess feeding him a few cans a month won't be that bad if it's so high in fat. I just...
Hi all cat lovers,
Has anyone heard of KOHA? I went to a local store yesterday and tried to look for new food for Loki and KOHA stew recipes got my attention. According to KOHA, "No grain or potato", "No wheat, corn or soy", "No carrageenan or guar gum". Pretty good right? Even better after I...
Hi all,
Recently, I have been looking for new brand to add into Loki's rotation and somehow, I came up with tons of problems that I would love to have the answers
Loki has been eating Primal frozen raw (pork, turkey, beef & salmon. Going to try duck and rabbit soon), Nature Variety wet (lamb...
Hi all,
This problem has been bothering me for awhile and I still can't find an answer for this. Loki is a neuter male, more than 1 year but less than 2 years old. I would say he is not that active and his weight vary from 13 to 13.8lbs. His daily kcal intake is ranging from 180 to 208, leaning...
Thanks for all the inputs! I think Loki is tired on the same wet/raw combination. I went from chicken to duck, then lamb. I am trying beef right now (within the same brand, Nature Instinct), but no luck. I then mix in a tbsp of Dr Elsey's dry, and guess what, he eat like tomorrow.... I am...
@KarenKat I actually started weighing him when I noticed him eating less. It's been 3 weeks and I just weigh him again.... Not losing any weight in fact, he gains 0.3lb..... I literally don't have any clue
@Azazel Just to make it clear that inactive means he doesn't running around or jumping up and down like crazy like when he was a little kitten. If i play with him, he responds pretty well tho. I even throw food around the house and he runs/chases it down which very entertained to watch.
Hi there,
Loki is more than a year old and he seems very healthy, besides the fact that he is quite inactive after being fixed. I constantly feeding him around 220 to 260 kcal a day:
1 3oz can of Nature Variety, depends on protein source, it's roughly 100 to 112kcal.
2 cubes of 1 oz...
@abyeb Thanks for the suggestion, I will look more into it!
@cheesycats I would like to try other flavors of canned Instinct Variety, thinking of beef, lamb and rabbit. However, the concern is that I don't know if Loki will get allergic to those. I have never tried any source of meat besides...
Hi all,
Loki, my 1yr old kitty, is on 50/50 wet and frozen raw diet. To be more specific, he is eating Instinct Variety Chicken and Duck wet, and Primal frozen raw Pork and Turkey. I also give him Dr. Elsey Dry for snack and treat. I feed him half wet and half raw per meal and he had been...
Thanks everyone for such fast and useful replies! Appreciated!
I will try to get a picture, or even a video of him when he is doing his "thing". He always purrs when he is doing it tho. Sometimes, I pick him up and get him out of his bed, he will jump right back in and continuous whatever he is...
I don’t think he has any sort of health issue. He is eating, drinking, sleeping, and everything is normal. I do notice one thing but I am not sure if it’s a normal behavior. He sleeps a bit more often recently. Also, after eating dinner, he usually goes straight to sleep for like a good hour...
Hi guys,
Loki, my 1 year old fur ball, is sucking on his bed everyday!!! He has a cat bed that made of soft fabrics (Idk if it's wool material or not) and literally, he sucks on it every, i mean everyday. Is this a normal behavior?
I do understand that kittens usually develop this behavior...
I also feed my boy raw, canned and dry. I feed him 4oz of raw, 1 3oz canned and 1 tbsp of dry to make up the calorie he needs for a day (~260 to 290kcal). You mentioned that you feed him raw only and he doesn't finish it, try mix it with canned. My boy used to be like your cat, but the mixture...
