Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Luckily, one of the bathrooms does have a shower like that!! I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

That's good to hear that it helped your cat. He had a little cough that stopped a bit after the 2 days (I'm not sure if this has to do with him finally getting some water??) Either way, I'm going to have to order it online since my local petstore doesn't carry it. Just a quick question, is there...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Oh no! That's such a terrible thing to go through. Poor baby... I'm glad he's living a good life now being an adorable little piggy with a loving owner! I know a thing or two about having a cat with a bottomless tummy. My other cat is a big boy who really enjoys his food. He loves it so much...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Thank you very much  So far we have canned food made for kittens his age as well as some high-calorie gel that was recommended. Took him a little bit of time to get used to it because he really liked his dry food, but he's fine with it now! I am definitely going to visit that thread...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Is that so? I'll start feeding him smaller portions until he starts getting better. So far, I had food available whenever he was hungry and he only ate a little bit every few hours. But I think I'll switch it up just in case. Thank you for the help!

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

He is a total sweetheart! Even after everything he's been through, he is just a little cuddle bug looking to be loved. I'm keeping him in a room just in case to prevent anything from spreading and to keep cats from fighting. I am currently on the search for a vet that would have some antibiotics...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Thank you! It broke my heart when I saw his condition. I know I can't offer him a whole lot, but I'll try my best to make sure he's comfortable. I have two cats so I have some flea medicine. Just like you said though, because of his condition I wasn't sure if it was safe. I'll look into finding...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

Thanks for the helpful advice! I'll definitely try to bathe him to get rid of those pesky fleas and see if I can get to the nearest pet store for wet food. As for the wound, it doesn't appear to be swollen or have any pus. I'm not sure if that's good or bad? As for the Neosporin, should I wrap...

Found A Starving Stray. How Would I Care For Him?

After being hit with hurricane Irma, a lot of strays have been turning up around my neighborhood- mostly cats. Yesterday my sister was lucky enough to save a little cat that looks like he hasn't had a solid meal in a week. He looks to be older than 4 months but younger than a year old. As much...

Need Help. Cat May Have Opened His Incision

Good idea! I have a baby onesie that I can cut a hole he can use to do his "business" and place a small sanitary pad to cover the area.

Need Help. Cat May Have Opened His Incision

I have noticed that he licks around the area after using the litter box, never directly on it. I do have a puppy who has an odd obsession with him. She or his sister could be the culprit of over grooming (both really like to groom him) if that is the case. I will be keeping a close eye until I...

Need Help. Cat May Have Opened His Incision

He was neutered exactly 10 days ago. I'm guessing that this happened very recently while I was out because it was fine this morning. There is no bleeding, no pus, and no smell. As i mentioned in another reply, it just seems like whatever patch of hair/skin was covering it, is now not there.

Need Help. Cat May Have Opened His Incision

Sadly, there isn't any way to contact the vet besides a phone number and tomorrow they're closed. We were only told that if anything happened to the incision the first couple of days, to bring him back. He didn't bother the incision at all. It's a bit confusing because there is no swelling or...

Need Help. Cat May Have Opened His Incision

Hi all! I recently came home to discover that my male cat had a red spot on the area where his incision is. There is no sign of bleeding, nor any sign of discomfort coming from my cat. The vet who neutered him used dissolving stitches and surgical glue to close it up, and no pain medications or...
