Sadly, the cat has died. She didn't come to the kitchen last evening and she didn't go to the shed last night. I found her by the edge of the woods this morning.
Thanks to all.
Maggie101,
Thanks. No, she's not a stray but she's the daughter of a stray I adopted. I'm in rural Tennessee, no one else is feeding her. I'm on good terms with her mother but I was unable to socialize with the sick cat early in her life so she's not very trusting of me as far as touching...
My 4 year old, mostly outdoor cat hasn't eaten in about 3 days. She’ll drink water. I’ve tried giving her her regular Purina Hairball dry food, some tuna fish and salmon but she has no interest. No obvious pain but she moves slowly. During the day she finds some shade in the woods/thick shrubs...
My 3 year old outdoor/indoor cat has been twitching her right ear the past 3 days. From what I've read it's probably mites or an infection. Her every three month Bravecto pill for ticks and fleas was due in a couple of weeks so I gave it to her yesterday as I read that although the Bravecto...
Thanks to all for the information and good ideas.I decided to put up a baby grate in the doorway rather than the 3' high plywood. Although the grate is only about 2' high the cats can see through it, where they're jumping to, so they might be more apt to jump over.
Also time to de-clutter...
I hope I put this in the right forum. I live in a rural area and have 3 cats (2 were strays and one is the daughter of a stray). They sleep in a large, cluttered, door-less shed, usually in boxes/straw I put in the rafters with a long carpeted ramp leading up there.I give them access to the...
Thanks FeebysOwner, Purr-fect and fionasmom. The growth on the cat's ear almost doubled in size within 24 hours of my post. Soon after that it looked like the cat scratched it open, quite a mess. It slowly started to get better and now is almost completely healed.
Good idea - thanks. Or maybe put like a 2" wide ramp going up the middle that the cats could use and hopefully the dog's legs would just automatically go outside the ramp. But then again maybe not. As I look at the dog sitting here her front paws are a few inches apart but when she walks her...
Thanks FeebysOwner. Another problem might be that the dog would need the bottom of the flap, when installed on the back door, to be high (I’m guessing a few inches above the floor) so she can step through easily but the cats would need the flap lower so they can step through easily.
I have 3 cats that sleep outside in a shed and that I let in the house at times. With winter coming on, I'd like to put a cat flap door on the back house door to give them access to the house on cold nights/days. I also have a dog (30 lb Australian Shepherd 18” at the shoulder) which I’d like...
This long haired cat sleeps both outside in a shed and inside the house. Found her a couple of years ago in State Park when she was a stray kitten. I noticed a bare spot, actually more of bare line about a half inch long, outside her ear maybe 3 weeks ago. I thought it was an injury of some type...
