maybe... she does use the cardboard ones though.
so far she hasn't gone in the same area to scratch, i'll continue to check it. I'm not sure how often I should spray the area with apple cider vinegar to keep her out. she's a good cat it's just this scratching issue. I can't monitor her 24/7 so...
i just sprayed the area with apple cider vinegar+ water. also taped some aluminum foil down. although it's not sticking well, i probably should have done that before i sprayed. will re tape later on. also put the scratch pad in the area. i hope this will put an end to this
She's been scratching part of the carpet by the exit of my studio. I know because occasionally I hear her scratching in that area, but i can't see exactly where because she stops right when i get up to look, she only does this from time to time. i'm trying to find out where she's scratching and...
i'm gonna try this. will buy some cat sedating spray and use it on her. then scruff her and attempt to clip the nails. problem is she keeps resisting touch. i go to hold a paw in order to clip it and she tries to pull away even while scruffed. i go to hold a foot to try and clip it and she makes...
she is using her litter box properly. just now she actually let me scruff her, however it is still difficult to cut her nails because she is not totally restrained. she tucks her paws in to hide them. if i try to get them out she will attempt to put both paws at me even while scruffed. she is...
I don't think I am able to restrain her now. Whenever I scruff her she starts growling and meowing until she eventually is able to jerk out of the scruff. Once she gets out she would then hiss at me and try to lean up and paw me. I'm not sure what is going on. Before I was able to scruff her and...
I rewarded her with fancy feast gravy lovers tonight. I know that she very much enjoys this food so I decided that for being a receptive kitty I will treat her to this food. Normally, she walks up and leaves when I try to cuddle but she was on my bed and I was able to get a solid 15 seconds of...
her name is babycat. this is her:
i think she was given this name because she is very frightened and gets scared easily, similar to how a baby behaves yet she is 3 years old. i have no idea what babycat was like as a kitten. i assume very anti-social, trying to hide, not very confident, etc...
thank you all for the advice. i think i'm going to just have to accept that my cat is content with being left alone all day. I got home at around 7 pm today and focused on what i needed to do until around 9pm. the whole time she is sleeping. I then try to cuddle with her by having her near me...
The cat does acknowledge me from time to time. She exposes her belly and spends time with me. She is just very against cuddling or being restrained. If I put her on my lap she immediately jumps off. If I scruff her and put her on my lap she starts meowing and growling. Yet when I scruff her when...
My cat does not like to cuddle. She does not like being on my lap or handled in any way. She tolerates petting on her head and back. Normally when I try for a belly rub she tries to paw my hand away so I guess that means she does not like that. I think the only physical contact that she...
I started out feeding her a combination of dry and wet food, dry in the morning and wet food at night. I'm thinking about switching to completely dry food such as blue buffalo
Is it a good idea to feed her like this? 1 cup of dry food in the bowl and leave it for the whole day, then replace it...
I fed her wet food and after she ate it I went to pet her. Then I got down on the floor close to her with my face near her face. I wasn't touching her and she kept looking at me, all of a sudden she swatted her paw at my hand and then went under my bed. I'm not sure what happened there, why did...
not sure about the automatic cleaners, would have to look into that. in your case that would mean for four days the litter box was not cleaned and the cats were still using it?
the food/water should be easy to do, get a self feeder and measure out however much dry food for x days and put it in...
My cat is great, but it has come to my realization that at some point I'd have to leave her on her own for more than 48 hours when I travel or visit family for extended periods of time. With that being said, about how long can I leave my cat alone in my studio apartment? I'm looking at pet...
i like to think of it as a trade off. more independent cat leads to peaceful nights and alone time during the day when needed, more affectionate cats leads to constant attention and can be draining/overbearing. i'm a college student living in a studio too so having a cat that needs constant...
