Sooo he ripped his stitches and we're back in square one. The vet said she doesn't think stitching it back together again would be best so we're caring for the wound now.
In the process I boarded peanut for 4 days so they can monitor him better. Now he's home and he's got the sneezes. He wasn't...
Thank you so much!! I feel so much better after hearing that it's normal. The vet only gave us antibiotic salve. I'll keep a very close eye on him, especially on the warmth and coordination thing. Thank you!
Thank you!! I was so worried because he's a bit warm to the touch (but still very vocal). He was sedated for it (at around 2pm today, now it's 5pm) but looks like his back legs are still a bit wobbly...
Hi!
Today peanut had to go to the vet's because of a small puncture wound that got infected. The vet cleaned it all up and sutured his wound together.
Has anyone had to deal with stitches in this particular location? I'm having a hard time keeping him from scratching it. It's right there on...
Our household went out of town and when we got back, there's a tiny tortie kitten in our yard. We took it in and brought it to the vet to treat for worms and fleas, etc. Vet said she's 3 months old, has flea and worm issues, but otherwise healthy.
My mum calls her Pepper because she's spicy...
Thanks, Valentina! I've viewed your videos. They're very helpful! The nebulizer itself is the one I'm most worried about. It's expensive here :( I'll ask around if we're allowed to rent one although I'm positive the vet would like it better if we go to and fro everyday :')
Thank you, thank you.
Update. The xray comes out clear in the diaphragm so it's not hernia, thankfully. She does have some whitecasting around her lungs and her heart appears bigger than normal, possibly bc it's hard to breathe. We also took a blood sample and saw the WBC count about 28.000, everything else is...
Thank you so much, mokapi. I really appreciate the replies- my sister is already asleep and I could only rant here. Thank you thank you I hope so too. She's snoozing now. I hope I can steal some winks too.
She was given 2 injections for pain I think. Not really thinking straight now. 2.30am here. Can't sleep bc I'm so anxious. Her breathing is still shallow. Doc seems p sure something is not allowing her to breathe freely and she's worried it's something around her diaphragm. There's nothing much...
Just got home. Doc said it's inconclusive so far bc that clinic doesn't have xray facilities. She tried to straighten her legs (she was limping) and peaches cried in pain. She said she might have been hit by something or attacked by a larger cat. Maybe abdominal hernia.... Or pneumonia.
Either...
Not sure what happened. Peaches suddenly came home with her breathing all awry like she was gasping. I counted her breathing about 80 a minute. Her gums are pale. She's weak and her third eyelid is present. Her tummy is bloated and if I tap on it I can hear noises like in a gassy tummy.
Its...
Hi, Foxxy! Thank you so much for the reply.
No, the doctor didn't give sub-q because Peaches is drinking very well on her own. She was prescribed some anti parasite capsules along with the panacur. I also give her some appetite supplements after consulting with the vet - she eats well, but has...
She's still feverish and lethargic, but she eats, drinks, poops, and pees well. We're continuing medicine. The current theory is that her worms bit her intestine and caused a wound that got infected. Still very worried.
Peaches is still with us! She's bitey and jumpy. Two days ago she got feverish (39*C) all out of a sudden. Everything looks okay- poop, pee, appetite. She drinks great, too.
Took her to the vet yesterday, did a fecal smear (came out clear) and blood test. Her white blood cells were really high...
In our local cat cafe there's a huge maine coon cat who likes to dig his water bowl! Haha some cats are just like that <3
Thank you for helping us! I'll update<3
I see! Thank you! That explains it. She's curious about water but won't drink it. Splashing, however....is a thing.
She also wouldn't eat dry food. It's too hard? Maybe. I noticed she has small teeth behind her incisors (premolars?) but it's not enough to crunch, even if the food is steeped in...
Whoa what a week. Sorry for the lack of update - she's still with us, potty trained, and weighing about 430g :) she's more interested in biting and playing around now, and even met some of our other cats.
One thing she doesn't do yet is drinking water on her own- not sure why my mum cooked some...
Ooh, do they actually work? I saw one in the hardware store several weeks ago. We rarely have mice around, thankfully.
Yeah, that's my concern too..although I'm pretty sure she'll gobble up 99.7% of it in minutes, haha! The remaining 0.3%...ant bait!
