Adopted cat still hiding after 2 months in new home

Hello @stars1 and feline friend! Many times we don't know a cat's prior history. There may be very good reasons why he is shy, but time, patience, love, respect and protection will undoubtedly win him over. Keep doing what you are doing. Have you tried playing with him with an interactive...

    My Feral And Rescued Cats

Bulb plants are weird that way. Since we've moved here, I see things come up that haven't bloomed before, too. It's nice. I thought my gardener also killed the blue larkspur that my dad loved. They didn't bloom for years. Last year, some came up in a place I'd never seen them before.

    My Feral And Rescued Cats

That black tulip is SO gorgeous. We had a black calla lily here at one time; our gardener thought it was an ill omen and killed it. *NOT HAPPY*

How long before kitten gets used to new food?

Yeah, I didn't think it would apply in her/your case but it is what "experts" suggest. The pumpkin can't hurt. The worst that could happen is that she won't like it.

How long before kitten gets used to new food?

Hello @Cookie dough and sweet kitten and welcome to TCS! Experts advise mixing new foods in with established diet, adding more and decreasing est. diet over a period of two weeks, at which time your kitten will be on 100% new food. Cats' stomachs/digestive systems are pretty sensitive, and...

    Featured Soft tissue injuries

Hello @MittensKitten and Dan, and welcome to TCS! Other posters' suggestions and information are excellent. Think about it: If you have a bad bruise, are you feeling better in five days? I wouldn't be. Time is the great healer; getting his doctor's input wouldn't hurt, either. Keep us...

    Featured Cemetery Stray

Hello @StrayMama and family, and welcome to TCS! The answer is "definitely" she looks pregnant. It's early enough that you could get her spay/aborted and thus not be adding to the numbers of kittens, which is very large this season/year due to COVID protocols *don't even get me started on how...

Please read and help! Urgent need for rescue and fosters for homeless cats and kittens

*thanks god!* May he come in for you so he can see his vet and hopefully feel much better and get a loving, safe home. Black and tortoiseshell cats are my favorites, aesthetically speaking, though of course I love ALL cats. Please post when he's in your care and I will share him to my socials...

WOW! Those look like wonderful 'nip toys, you guys and girls! I'm thinking there will be a LOT of biscuits being made shortly -- you might have to open the Chez Catbird Boulangerie!;) Gorgeous blooms, of the colorful and soft, furry kind! My spider lily is a bit different, and hasn't...

They give us unconditional loyalty and love and they are in our care -- of course we are going to be concerned and want nothing but love and comfort for them! Warm is good. Comforting.

Well, humans have good and bad days, so I would guess cats do, too. Another thing that can help is to put steps next to places she wants to climb. Baby Su is 16 and Elvis is 13, and they both are able to jump, but I put a single-story cat condo next to our platform bed just to make sure.
