Hi,
A little over a month ago I unexpectedly and suddenly lost my 10yo boy Percy. Luckily I was able to get him to the vet in time to say goodbye and let him go in peace.
His brother and littermate Ollie misses him a lot. He was always by Percy’s side and wherever Percy went Ollie was soon to...
I'm giving my guy a break from raw while he works through a digestive problem.
I'm used to feeding him only 6 oz of raw a day, but the 5.5 oz can of Wellness suggests "1.5 cans per 6-8 pounds of body weight per day". He is a healthy weight of 16 lbs.
That can't possibly be correct, can it...
Yes! Thank you!
They ran a few tests and he has a clean bill of health. The vet is 90% positive he picked up something from the raw I feed him. He's taking a break from it now and I had been giving him an appetite stimulant, but he's eating more or less normally.
Thanks again for the advice!
I appreciate the advice and will take him to the vet, but trust me when I say "picky" is his personality. Since he was a kitten (he's 4 now), he always has been suspicious of anything new - new food, new bed, new toy, etc... Not afraid, just cautious.
Cheers everyone!
Hello,
I have one very picky cat. He likes only his raw turkey and that's it. I have another cat that will eat anything - raw, canned, whatever. Neither of them eat human food.
I think a batch of food was bad and they both picked up a little stomach thing (one instance of vomiting, not sure...
Thanks for the reply. I assumed acne as well but the sores are so big. Im not sure about a cyst - he's had multiple ones in different locations on his chin.
I think you did the right thing. It sounds like your guy had cancer that was pretty spread at that point plus he wasn't eating or drinking which is never a good sign. You gave him a long and happy life with you and you did everything you could to take care of him. You did right by him, do not...
Hello,
My guy keeps getting reoccurring sores on his chin.
The first time he got one I thought his brother bunny kicked him and scratched him, but he keeps getting them. Id say one every few months. They start out as a dark spot that eventually opens and bleeds.
Ive been to the vet and it...
Sounds like things are going really well.
You could try getting them to play with a toy together under the gap in the door.
A string with two mice or something tied to each end so they can play tug-of-war. Or something similar.
Also you might try opening the door a crack so they can see each...
I lived in the UK for over 10 years. One of my friends cat got hit by a car and died, another friends cat disappeared one day and she never found it. Enough data for me to keep my boys inside.
Im guessing you are in the UK? For some reason folks in the UK are more likely to let their cats be outdoor cats. Leads to some unhappy endings.
Have you thought of getting two cats? They can keep each other company - if they get along well obviously.
Some tips.
- Keep lots of toys around...
Looks like you've done your homework. I will add that it isn't a race. Don't force anything and let the cats set the pace. You say you'll have the new cat in the spare room for a "couple of days", but don't make this firm. You might have to have him in there for a couple of weeks depending on...
Frontline usually takes about 12-24 hours to kill all the fleas. As long as the kitty hasn't been anywhere else in the house you won't have to treat the house. I'd keep him isolated from the rest of the house for a couple of days to kill all the fleas and any new eggs. Get rid of anything he's...
