Hecate was a nibbler even when she was on wet food as a kitten... and I swear that Hades has some kind of food anxiety... he's always been a hog... if there's food out, he'll mow it down as fast as he can... I use smaller bowls, each holds about half a cup (a bit more) and the two bowls are...
Okay, since being fixed, both the kitty-kids have started eating a lot more, and are both getting a little chubby. I wish I remembered Hades' weight when he was fixed... anyhow... so, I'm switching from just filling the bowls when the cats can see the bottom to scheduled, measured feedings. A...
She's never had any issues with chicken or corn before... just with fish and seafood... again, the wheezing and sneezing... she only does that with fish and especially shellfish... I'd hate to have to find her a protein if she's allergic to chicken AND fish...
I'm looking for suggestions on how I can help Hecate out. She's flaky... and it's a recent development. I read online that fish oil supplements could help, but she's always had bad reactions to varying degrees with fish products, from sneezing to wheezing, and that can't be ignored... What can I...
By our human standards, the most rude thing our cats have done led to them finally getting fixed... it was when Hades started literally spraying us! By his standards, he was just letting everyone know we belong to him, but oh my... that was gross... Poor Rune got sprayed three times! Hopefully...
Unfortunately, we had to get rid of the cats' tree due to Hecate spraying it alot at the height of her heat cycles... turns out you can't wash them... I tried and ruined it.
Both cats have gotten their pain pill... that was easier than I expected... just kinda kneel with the cat between your knees and your feet behind their tail and open their mouth and shove the pill down their throat... the sausage treats were refused, and the raw egg has so far been ignored.
morning update... put the cone back on Hades last night, woke up this morning and Rune had taken it off... oh well, let's hope he doesn't mess with it... fed the both of them half a can of wet food... dry food has been down all night... and I guess one of them was snacking on that too, so...
so, I decided to take Hades cone off, but the first thing he did was go for his missing "equipment". And i still can't really get him out of hiding. So the cone may have to go back on after he's had a bit of time to eat and roll around on the carpet behind the couch some more. He doesn't...
Neither of them has drank any water... how long before i get worried about that? I put some water in a low coffee/soup mug near Hades' new hiding place... I think he's just gonna live behind the sofa for now until the cone goes away...
The coffee mug is smaller than the cone, so hopefully he...
The clinic paperwork recommended small meals of wet food tonight. They've both eaten about half of what was offered... so about half to two-thirds of a tablespoon. What's fun is I gotta stay up and make sure Hecate stays in her gown. She's disrobed twice.
Neither the vet nor Rune want the cats licking incisions... idk why it's different with this particular spay/neuter clinic, but there it is. Maybe they do something different...
