Sorry for the late reply! She was wearing a "recovery suit" because she had recently been spayed. I have found that they are typically less stressful for the cat to wear than the typical "cone" and they aren't as easily removed by the cat either.
I've had her for almost a month and I think she has always purred like that. I can't be positive though.
She is pretty much always purring when she is around me. Her breathing does slow for the few moments when she isnt purring. It does slow down when she is sleeping or when something else...
I used to frequent this site but it's been a while. It's also been a while since I've had a kitten. It's been about 6 years. I don't remember any of my cats doing this as kittens (but as I've said, it's been a bit) but my new kitten, Hermione breathes quite rapidly when she purrs. I read that...
Ahh okay. I am glad the deodorizer is working. I have never thought about using grass seed as litter. I guess I am lucky that my cats weren't too picky about the switch to pine. I worried that they wouldnt like standing or digging in it but after about a week of mixing it in with their regular...
Have you tried switching them to pine pellet litter? There is no better odor control imo. There is NO SMELL at all. The only thing it ever smells like is wood, even if I let the litter go for a few days. Its $6 for a 40lb bag at Rural King/Tractor Supply.
I have been really absent lately and have been trying to get back to posting here. A lot of good things have happened this year, but these last 2 weeks have got to be the worst 2 weeks of my life to date.
All of last week I had the flu, it was so bad that I missed an entire week of work and I...
My parents did this to stop my cats from jumping on counters: get some of the decorative duct tape (the kind for making crafts/wallets and stuff because its not as sticky as real duct tape) place several small strips sticky-side up on the counter, especially along the edges. When the cat jumps...
I switched my cats to pine pellet litter (well it's actually marketed as horse pellet bedding but it is exactly the same as the pine pellet cat litter the sell in pet stores for way more money). Its only around $6 for a 40 pound bag at Tractor Supply or Rural King. Its biodegradable, is not...
I used to have a litter robot and did not have a positive experience with it. It was also in a room with no ventilation and the smell became absolutely ghastly after a while. My suggestion would be to clean the litter robot thoroughly with an enzyme based cleaner and possibly move it to another...
Hi guys! Some of you might remember me from the 2018 and 2017 threads. I have not been on this site for quite a while but life has been crazy. I do have news though, my fiance and I finally bought our own house (we have lived in an oversized 5th wheel for 2 years)! It took a while to save up but...
Sirius and Remus are doing pretty well. Though I think Remus may have conjunctivitis again ugh (one eye is red around the edges and squinty). It seems I may need to take them to the vet again soon. I have heard them sneezing a bit (and a few coughs here and there, not very often- and both of...
I have been working on one of the new paint-by-numbers sets I recently bought. I zoned out while painting and I just now looked at the clock and its 5:05am O.o where did the last 7 hours go? Lol.
I also know how that feels, my Fiancé's mom literally thinks I am satan even though I have never done anything negative toward her. I don't know why she thinks I am so evil but one time, before my Fiancé and I lived together (we were a long distance couple and could only visit each other a few...
You sure have better neighbors than we do.
Unfortunately the front side of our trailer faces the neighbor that we have the worst relationship with. They are also very wealthy, and they dont like the idea of us having the trailer. They are the ones who reported us to the city ordinance. We got...
If you dont mind my asking? What kind of self scooping litterbox do you have?
I use one (litter robot open air) and it has been very helpful with my picky cat's litter problems (one of my cats wouldnt use the litter if there was even a hint of pee/poo in the litter).
Dont beat yourself up. It is often very difficult to bottle/syringe feed kittens with a nursing mother.
It is good that you are going to facilitate his nursing to make sure he gets enough. :)
