Lost count...of my cats over the years...I think 50 years or more... Not big numbers at once but a steadyflow that increased dramatically when I came to Ireland just over 20 years ago and saw the situation here. Oh and Orkney before that. Farming communities with a long history of dire poverty...
ie OP resonating with so much your say. I live on a small offshore Irish island and several of the islands eg Tory, and Inis Bigil where I live, had huge issues with an exploding cat population. And dealt withit, in my opinion, badly. Ireland was until recently very very poor so animals had to...
Please, can you stand aside a while, watch but let THEM work it out? They are CATS, not people. Respect that. Just it comes across that you are assessing in human terms... Just now I have two new wee cats and I am doing that with them. They need to find their way round, form their own binds...
The real issue is that all creatures need fluids and most of the time cats get theirs from food,, When the kibble came out bigtime I was sitll showing cats and was by the sales stall at one show at Olympia and there were great worries re cats dying f kidney failure when they were fed...
((((HUGS))))) yes time and patience and acceptance of a whole new family set up for all the family members....Time too for you to adjust? it was always going to be different. Babies grow up.. Let time pass..Cats have different relationships than we do so they cannot be compared as you are doing...
There are not demonstrative to my disappointment! All adult and very independent. The only one who seeks me out is the home cat.. To the others I am just the waitress! Although early days yet maybe... and as long as they are OK.... All takes time... No night feeding thus .. at over 80 I am...

Yes the dreaded midge. We say "the midge" Bites can vary in size but the intense itch of them causes scratching ..They swarm mainly early morning and evening but this is late in the year for them . Really best to keep cat in. Mine object but it is what is best for them
OP I am in Co Mayo...
No; this Irish cop knew what he was about; I thought the same as you but he searched house and garden. He knows the few islanders well and this one is a ……And a small house. .The creep will have been panicked by the friend of ours who called on him last week;; would not even give his name- and...
At a loss what to eat these days and end up with bacon, sausage, egg, bread. Too much going on with the cat situation here. Oh and chocolate of course. .. Maybe next week.... I do have a ready made cottage pie in the freezer for Sunday with garden greens... Love reading your menus!
The sun is starting to shine and one by one over a period of half an hour the cats are in I WANT OUT mode... As soon as i sit down again... another one staring at me with a paw raised at the door... Just me and Selkie left now and she with her Oriental streak prefers to stay in... So just me and...
