I would like to ask for assistance. I am planning to travel by air and want to take my catwith me. She is a VERY finicky cat. The medication is to be mixed with food; however, she can detect the slighted difference in her food and will not eat it. Maybe others have had this issue and have...
...cabin. Some do restrict flying them at all.
Some airport security will take the cat out of the carrier, so be prepared for that and have a secure harness and leash. They do this so that the carrier can be checked.

I'm sure there is a lot of work and travel involved but would becoming a judge at acat show be a possibility for you. With your background and knowledge I think you'd not only have a chance but be an excellent judge for the Persian breed. :creampersian:
Looking for some ideas of some travel pet crates that could for two cats. One 14 lb and one 10 lb cat.
We've done some evacuation tests and on my own it's difficult to grab 3 carriers, and 2 backpacks. Magnus needs a specific one for his knees as he as luxating patellas, so he's in a backpack...
Do you have any way to get there? Do you have your own car. or could you ask someone to drive you?
Put him in a cardboard box or acat carrier with plenty of soft blankets, I don't think the journey will be that tough on him. Probably safer to take him for a blood transfusion now than wait...
Because it is getting harder and harder to locate an independent veterinary practice vs a corporate organization sometimes you have to travel further than you would like. This is true not just for our animals but for people who want to see a doctor in private practice too. When our last vet...
I travelaround the world with my cats and other people's. You can get him in the carrier simply by holding both front paws and getting him inside zip it up and take him to the car, go for a ride and come back. The person can transmit safety to the cat, you need to be calm and in control.
I cannot vouch for this article because I've never personally traveled long-distance withacat. But I did happen to see this just a day or two ago...

Some cats are more brave than others, but in general, this is one reason why, as much as I love my cat, my catand I don't get along as well as I do with dogs. I don't get mad at him, but it is frustrating that it is what it is. Dogs travel in packs all over the place to work together to hunt...
Not me. Pre having my own cat I it once while cat sitting, and spent an hour trying to reach the catand pull it out from under the seat while keeping all the door shuts so it didn’t run out - a very stressful and unpleasant situation.
I apologize if this isn't the correct place to ask. My mamacat is my baby and has slept between me and my husband for four years. She has major attachment issues and does not like to be away from me. She gave birth to two kittens on 2/14. She wants to be with them and with me, so she brings...

Cats can have a virus 2 to 10 days before they show any symptoms.
They can pick them up from being pet with someone witha virus on their hands, or during travel or if the new home has other pets that go outside, if the new owners pet acat outside or at a store and then didnt wash their hands...
I believe it! And I'm with @silent meowlook & you- if I didn't have to I would not....My one most recent addition to the family is not licensed and I'm not going to license him so he is not getting anything I'm not mandated to do.....the main reason I ever started was really for travel- living...
I really hope she’s not sick withanything. She’s an indoor cat, no new changes in her environment. I travel every 6-8 weeks and she’s never done this before. We had a major scare witha cancer misdiagnosis last fall so I’ve been weary of every change in her but she got a clean bill of health...
I would look into a rolling one, too. :)
Even a soft sided carrier witha large cat can be heavy, and the larger the hard-sided crate is, the more bulky and awkward it is to carry. A larger cat in a large, sturdy carrier can't easily be carried in one hand (unless you're stronger than I!)...
Yes, they get their blood pressure checked at each follow up appointment. Their blood pressure has been good, despite that we have to travel from our small-town IL area to a Chicago suburb about 2 hours away for appointments. Despite the long car ride and nervousness which kitties naturally have...

The idea of leaving an unwanted cat may be revolting. Yes.
But, it happens a lot. The kitten as a present for Christmas, birthday, other occasions has become a problem. It is a hassle to remove it, or work with it to improve whatever it is that has spoiled your day!? So, ppl do not use...
