forgot to add...... I fully recovered after a couple of hours. No damage done and no problem speaking at all. But it will take me a while longer not to be afraid to go to sleep. First thing I do now when I wake up is say something out loud to check that my speech is okay.
This happened to me this past weekend....
I went to bed early one night but was awakened by my little 15 yr old calico Gypsy. She had jumped up on the bed and was nudging me and meowing persistently. Over and over she kept nudging me with her nose and meowing. I didn't know what was going on...
It's only been 24 hours but already I am seeing small changes in Priscilla. She is very playful this morning and gobbled her new kibble up for breakfast. She is definitely having a good morning and I can see she is feeling good and has some playful energy. Normally she doesn't play much but this...
The bag is supposed to arrive today. Will let you know how it goes. I have a feeling her stomach, skin, and stinky poo issues could all be related to her diet but won't know until I try out the new kibble.
I just found Hill's Science Diet sensitive stomach and skin grain free cat food on Amazon in a small 3.5 lb bag. It's their smallest and least expensive bag so I went ahead and bought it. With my Amazon card credits it only cost me $2.11 so that's as cheap as I can get. It arrives tomorrow so...
I currently give them both 2 wet food meals and 1 dry food meal daily for a total of 3 daily meals; breakfast, lunch, dinner. I would prefer to keep some dry food in their diet as I believe it is a health mix of both dry and wet. The Fancy Feast is something they both love and I can afford...
On a side note, she also has the stinkiest poop I have ever smelled from a cat. It permeates the entire house. I remember reading somewhere that this could be connected to a poor diet. My other cat has fairly odorless poops or at least I never smell them. But she does have problems with very dry...
One of my cats has been vomiting her dry food only periodically. She is fine with wet. Wet food is Fancy Feast which both my cats love. She (the cat) is under vet supervision and her vet is okay with me switching out her kibble. Is Science Diet or IAMs for sensitive stomach okay? Just need some...
Yes. I got the diffuser 2 days ago and plugged it in. Haven't really seen any difference yet but there is noticeably more peace day by day as each adjust. Priscilla (formerly Athena-- I renamed her) is still very nervous and standoffish. I have to be patient and give her the time she needs to...
My wish is that someday they will except and comfort one another or even sleep together. Awww.... that would be bliss. But I will be happy with simply peaceful co-existence.
In case anyone is confused I renamed my new shelter cat Athena to Princess Priscilla Pattycake. Priscilla has been here for almost 2 weeks and has been making big steps to adjusting to her new home and resident cat sis Gypsy.
For the first few days I thought is wasn't going to work from all the...
Update on Athena.
I think I understand now why she has been passed over and brought back after being adopted before. She is very skittish, nervous, unsettled, and lacks confidence. Being abandoned, then returned back to the shelter, and sent to another shelter over her 5 yrs of life has taken...
Her name is Athena and she is 5 yrs old. Just adopted her yesterday. She was a long time resident at the shelter. She was horribly stressed and it caused her to not be on her best behavior when viewed. So consequently she was passed over again and again. I read her story and saw photos and...
I find Gypsy treats the marshmallow bed differently than her others. Its a bisquet making thing and she will do that for the longest time, just purring, closing her eyes, and forever making bisquets. So try one for you furbabies. They might find total bliss!
Gypsy's ears stay pretty clean. Have never had to clean them out before and they always look fine during vet exams. Other cats I've had in the past got dirty ears or wax buildup and had to be cleaned periodically. A good indicator is scratching the ears a lot or shaking the head and tilting it...
Oh get one! Best investment bed for kitty! You will get loads of fun just watching her enjoy the bed. Plus with winter coming and the temps getting colder she will be in it a lot. Gypsy seems to stay most of the day and all night in hers during the winter. When I have to look for her I know...
Has there ever been a cat that doesn't start making bisquets the moment she/he steps into their marshmallow bed? Gypsy will carry on with her bisquet making for a long time before she curls up an settles in the bed. I love these beds and its apparent she does too! She is a quirky cat and...
