Posting videos seems to be an issue for me at the moment sorry but I do think Dude means well. I just can’t figure out how to stop him charging the others without a barrier. I just want them to start tolerating each other haha.
I’ve thought about this but I’ve heard conflicting reports about how this might make him more frustrated? (similar to barrier aggression in dogs- which my dog happens to have lol). I would consider it though!

Hi All~
Looking for some reassurance and/or suggestions for what has been an (expectedly) long integration of a third cat.
The Kitties; Beckett (7 yr tuxedo, FLUTD), Tips (7 yr Tortie), Lil’Dude (grey 15 mth-ish)
Lil’Dude was an extremely sick foster I got a year ago (suspected panleuk with...
I actually had A/D around as it’s part of my fosters diet and it was the first thing I tried with him- no go. I’ll run to the store and pick up some sliced turkey to try…
I had very minor success this morning offering him his favourite stew C/D- he licked it but stopped when he got a chunk he...
Hi All,
Bear with me on the background- my sweet tuxie Beckett (7 yrs, neutered) has completely gone off his food since late Wednesday (3.5 days now…). He has always been an anxious soul and has FLUTD so he’s on a wet diet. He gets the vast majority of his water via his food as he rarely drinks...
I live in northern rural Canada so vets/lab tests and shelter access to tests are quite limited unfortunately. I’m told he was tested for panleuk but the results came back ‘inconclusive’; however, as his brother died exhibiting all the signs along with secondary infections, I was directed to...
I’m waiting on word back from the shelter on the deworming as that was my thought as well- I wasn’t there for intake so I don’t know if he was well enough at the time for them to do so. He doesn’t have worm belly but neither did my last foster litter and it was definitely worms with them so it’s...
Hello knowledgeable cat friends :)
I picked up a new foster a couple days ago and I’m looking for some ideas to help support this little dudes recovery from (suspected) panleukopenia.
There were two litters of similar age dropped off from the same home- My foster and 2 other kittens were...
They’re six years old and both are in good shape (not too much extra Chonk on them as Beckett keeps them both rather active with his demands haha).
Beckett likes to sit and wait for me outside the foster room but still hisses when he gets a visual on the kittens.
Hi All - just looking for some opinions on adding a third cat/kitten to my existing two. I'm at the tail end of fostering a queen and 5 kittens for our local shelter. One of the kittens (Spud) and I have connected quite strongly and I'm tempted to keep him. However, I'm concerned of the impact...
Mama Cat (Anise)has been a challenging foster for me to read behaviourally. She clearly likes to be around people she knows but has a Dr.Jekyl/mr.Hyde personality when it comes to touch. I think she gets super overstimulated by it. She was spicy even before she had the babies but the litter...
Hi folks- the dewormer cleared up everything within 48 hours so the kittens have been busy growing and learning! They are now five and a half weeks old. My next questions are weaning- they still have full access to mama and dry food is available 24/7. Wet food is offered 4x a day and all the...
Update! The vet got back to me finally after 5 pm today- everyone’s getting strongid tomorrow. Hopefully that should clear things up. Taters is bouncing back and Russet has his energy back although he’s moved from nausea-weight loss-orange poo-weight gain-yellow watery diarrhea. Poor guy...
The vet never got back to us (myself and the shelter) 🙁 Apparently they had 63 calls on their message machine (they don’t answer their phone directly anymore) so they just never got to us.
I got called into work this afternoon and Taters was looking a little better so I left. When I got back...
I hope they are too young for tapeworms - Mama was treated for roundworms so hoping it's not those either. I would be happy with zero worms really...
I'm not sure what you mean by 'parasites and worms are not the same?' Worms (Hook, Round, Tape, Heart etc) are all types of parasitic worms...?
Yeah I'm worried it's parasites as Mama cat was wormed when she got to the shelter but it didn't cover tapeworm and I thought I saw some potential bits of that...but the vet wasn't comfortable giving her anything more so late in her pregnancy. I was hoping to get everyone wormed at 2 weeks but...
This is my sweet Taters. :( I stayed up last night and watched her heave again (Mama was very attentive) but I did see her have a decent feed before I went to bed.
When I got up this morning, she's not doing well. It looks like she had several bouts of diarrhea last night (orange tinged) and...
So weights are still all over the place but Spud finally gained weight again. (Thank goodness). Here I finally thought I could stop worrying about the little crew and was playing with them all after weighing when suddenly Taters out of nowhere starts crying in distress and then dry heaves...
Guess I’m gonna need some bigger plates…
My boy Spud dropped to 502 g(-5 g) at weigh in tonight but the others gained +7, +19, +20, +25. I feel like they’re stealing his milk but I watched him jump in and have a good suckle alongside the rest of them. He’s still super energetic so I guess I’ll...
Thank you Sarthur2 for the reassurance. I love these little mites! They’ve all cut their teeth so I did a small offering of mush last night and had a couple sniffs but if was mama cat that launched herself into the dish lol. Not sure how I’m gonna start weaning if Mama keeps eating their food!
