A stray who gives birth on our doorstep often just gave birth again. I don't know how many since she has them hidden behind some old appliances, but I think 2, maybe 3. Normally when she gives birth, her belly becomes... floppy? deflated? loose? But this time she gave birth to only two about 3...

So I'm a jerk and forgot this site existed again. A few weeks ago, I found one of her babies right outside. The baby was shivering but my hands were too cold so I tried to warm up a paper towel. By the time I came back (I still have no idea what my plan was, so I just put the baby on the towel)...

She put the baby back herself. But I haven't seen her or her babies for almost a week now. There's no trace of them. I'm actually a bit worried.

Oh, no problem. I barely see any fleas, though maybe they're still too young, as fleas are only parasitic when they reach adulthood. I haven't seen the mum at all today, but one of the babies is outside the pile. I'm assuming she (didn't check) crawled away somehow. Is it okay if I pick her up...

Turns out I've ascended. She let me touch one of her babies who was a bit far from the pile for some reason but has now rejoined them. I just managed to get her a couple of cat food packets today. Not kitten food, as I can't find it for some reason; could've just been at the store at an unlucky...

On the bright side, the kids finally got used to me and actually let me pet them and stuff. They even follow me around sometimes.

So I'm taking the kittens to someone I know today. I feel confused, like I'm doing something wrong, but I also know it's for their own good. I can barely feed them without them vomiting and I can't give them the proper care they need and they'll leave anyway soon. They turn 4 months old tomorrow.
